I have worked in the food service before (various restaurants and donut shops for 7 years). In my case, they hire anybody who walks in without a criminal record and isn't too young! Present yourself with confidence and show up 5 minutes early, be neat, but don't over dress. Just be honest about your skills, they will most likely hire you right away....UNLESS.....some big food chains put out now hiring signs because they want to revamp their stack of applications. They usually review and sort out aps every 6 months. The sign doesn't mean that they are actively hiring. If you want to find out, walk in, ask for a manager and say, "I'm interested in working here, are you actively hiring or just accepting applications?" They should tell you what they are doing, and then, you can turn in your application if you want.
Hope that helps, good luck, I heard Mic D's has some good scheduling and nice benefits. But fast food is what it is...fast food, they hire and fire every day!

Unless you have a really horrible work record AND live in a really depressed area, you should have no problem getting hired at McDonald's . . . or any other fast food restaurant! Best wishes as always!

The most important thing is your availability, then experience. Employers are usually looking for people with a good "track record" that don't go bouncing around from job to job every few weeks. There's really no harm in applying if you want the job.

if your past job history looks good then you have a good shot. They don't care about your past jobs.
