I am working for a property management company and I'm inquiring about a position in the same field. Well, upon telling my boss of the interview, she said she should have had me sign an agreement when she hired me so I COULD NOT be employed by any other property management company? Is that Legal?

Hi All

My partner has been employed by an NHS trust on a 'bank staff' basis , contracted for 0 hours for the past 3 years. She's worked in the same posistion, same department , same seat doing the same job for the 3 years mentioned.
She does not get paid holidays and is not entitled to sick pay (other than SSP).
She works on average 27 hours a week, 0830-1430 5 days a week

By law is she entitled to the same conditions, sick pay , holidays etc as a contracted member of staff as she has been in posistion for over 12 months?

Thx all

Slim

I'm trying corporate America again, and I think it might be a mistake. Basically, I have 2 questions:

1) Is one's stress level reliably predicted by how much they're being paid?

2) Do employers hire people where part of their job is to be mean, or do they tolerate the meanness because that tends to be associated with get-it-done personalities?

I see the rich people dinning in expensive restaurants, live in luxerious houses, driving mercedes. I want to ask them, how did your become so super rich? I want to know the "how".

I don't think simply "working hard" can make me that rich. I see many people work so hard that it even threatens their health, but most of them get old and die even before reaching the 1/50 of the richness of the above people.

There must be something.

Is becoming rich confined to a certain careers, specially to the "business" sector, like real estates, being the head of the grocery store, owner of the firm, etc.? What careers that make them super rich?

And do you think the manufacturing career is in fact, does not make much money and does not make the people become super rich?

Please tell me.

My old employer is a national company that does human resource tasks. I worked there for a few years and quit under some stressful circumstances. I am curious to see if there are any notes about me or things in my personel file (whatever that is). I don't even know where the company stores this type of information or if there is more than one place. The only way I can think of to find this out is if I had a contact on the inside that regularly hired people (i dont have a contact). Any ideas on how I can get a hold of my 'file' so to speak
