I'm trying corporate America again, and I think it might be a mistake. Basically, I have 2 questions:

1) Is one's stress level reliably predicted by how much they're being paid?

2) Do employers hire people where part of their job is to be mean, or do they tolerate the meanness because that tends to be associated with get-it-done personalities?

1) No the highest paid have the most time off and underlings to handle the stress jobs. Almost the reverse. The more you get paid the less you have to do.

2) KIA (kick them in the icehole) management is considered "old school" but the ice holes seem to distributed pretty evenly. Seems like there is always a "pusher" pushing everyone.
