employers may be concerned that you are not a legal citizen. you should make it very clear on your aplication/resume that you are a legal citizen with date e.t.c. that you became a legal U.S. citizen(assuming you are!).

If you are not a legal citizen yet this should be the first thing you do before anything else what so ever.

In the county where I live they are getting after employers that higher illegal imigrants with heavy fines/jail time. many employers will not higher immigrants because they do not want to take the risk of highering an illegal.

I am not agsinst imigrants seeking a better life but the county of which i live was starting to turn into little mexico and was draining our local economy dry with all of the financial aid they where needing.

good luck

If you can show the employer that you have the skills and education, especially from the States, you should have no trouble.
You are starting on the right foot, keep at it.

The people who told you that "accounting profession is only for white and american born people" are wrong. Perhaps they didn't have what it takes, and to make themselves feel better about their failures, seek only to discourage others from attempting to enter into the profession. Opportunity is for everybody, don't let anyone dissuade you from your goal.
