I recently pitched a script to a manager/producer. He was not very interested in what I brought him but he did give me an assignment to write a feature length comedy script. I have since done so and we are in the final stages of polishing it up. I haven't received any payment and in fact have not even discussed it with him at length. He says that I'll get paid when it sells. Now he wants me to start work on another feature length comedy script and I need to know if I should be getting paid to do this work. He has a lot of contacts and is well positioned to sell this thing. Should I be getting paid to write at this point or should I keep soldiering on, poor and unpaid in the hopes that one of these scripts will sell? Also, if I should be getting paid, what should I be asking for? Thanks for all your help

Why is it that so many of the people that support the War in Iraq are not willing to send their sons to fight there? I come from a family where joining the Military during War time was expected of you. If I were young enought I would be in the Military myself, I do have a nephew who is in the Military right now. I had two blood relitives who served on Viet-Nam, one who served in Korea, and three who served in WWII, they all saw combat. I guess it's a rich man's War and a poor man's fight! This question will be listed under Business and Finance because of all of man's enterprises War is the most profitable

Would like to make a reasonable amount of money (upper 50's or higher) but have flexibility and possibly job share (for less salary) - having trouble finding the perfect job? Any ideas? - thinking law / real estate.

He was sent all over a dozen states to install safes in retail stores and was promised wages (180 per day) and now the owner of the business is refusing to pay him because he had a car accident and damaged the car they gave him to drive. The damage was minor (crease in front fender) and less than the wages he is owed. (Not that I think he is liable. Not sure about that) Is there a govt agency or such he can file a complaint with? Any suggestions? (Yeah, I know... sue him but that takes money which he does not have.)

Hi. I'm in the first week of night portering at a hotel in the sth west of the UK. Wondered if there were any night shift hotel workers online?. Its very spooky, noises everywhere - i've done night shifts years ago at hotels in London but there was always 2 of us. It doesn't help when supervisory staff keep leaving doors open to the front river and they swing open after everyone goes to bed!. I'm the first women they've had doing nights here.....wonder if its the right job as l don't want to wander around the dark hotel doing checks! (i've left al the lights tonight, not worth scaring myself!). Are you a night porter and how do you find the job??

I'm just looking for templates where I can just fill in my information.
I bought a new computer but my free trials have ended so now I can't use their (Micro Word) templates. There must be a web site out there somewhere where I could just copy the resume and make it my own.

I am in accounting and want to move up to a management type position but feel as though I am either too young or look too young.
I am 32, but look about 25. Most higher up accounting jobs require older women or men.

Due to a pregnancy scare I was taken off work and put on bed rest for a week and a half. I received something in the mail from my employer that stated my sick time was exausted and now I was being placed on a Medical Leave of Absence that I would not be paid for. They then advised me to contact the EDD and apply for SDI but according to the information they provided me with I will not be paid for the 1st week of my time off. Can they really do this and shouldn't they have called me or let me know sooner (considering they have no problems calling me for questions on work when I'm off but can't call for this).
