I am applying for a City Job. I made it through to the interview. At the interview they gave me a test and then I met with a panel of 4. I was called the next day and they congratulated me on being placed on the eligibility list they stated that they would like to see me for a 2nd interview . I will be meeting w/ the director and the manager of the department.

Any tips on how I can better prepare or what to expect?

I found a listing for a job that's extremely close by and offers better pay than I'm making now plus no weekends. I've faxed and emailed my resume and also applied online thru the newspaper's website. i've also left 2 messages on their job line. I am more than qualified for the job but I haven't recieved any calls from this employer. the last time i sent my resume is last saturday. how long should i wait to hear something from them?

I have recently quit my old job where i worked for 2years (because company was loosing funding and my hours were going to be decreased, i am only a part-timer)for another job opportunity that came by. I worked at this new job for only one day and it just happened to be that i received a "better "offer from another company. I have pros and cons for both places and I am cofused about which decision to make.
1st job pros: good location, only 1hr train ride, decent pay, nice friendly office, not much growth opportunity---> type of company staffing agency and I will be a bookkeepers assistant
2nd job pros: not too great of a location, 40min driving, more pay (but not too much), small casual laid back office, growth opportunity, very flexible schedule (flexibility is very important to me since I am a full time college student), type of company-->real estate and I will be starting as a finance manager's assistant and will be trained to become a full charge bookkeeper.
Please help!

Don't you think that over the limit of people privacy?? Don't you think the most important thing that the company should look for are the report from DMV office. All they need to know is the worker legal or not right!! Not the Credit behind people's life. Even people don't have good history from old job or had bad credit, as long they are looking for jobs. The Company should give them a chance right?!

I just got through with an interview with a position I really want in Product Development. How do I know if the interview went well? I was in the interview for an hour and half, they seemed to be very interested in my artistic/ computer abilities, and the VP told me he would call me by the end of this week and asked me when I would be able to start if I was hired. Are these good signs? They also noted I was very articulate *haha, maybe not on Yahoo!answers*
Should I send a typed thank you letter? or should I opt for a hand written letter?

I graduated college in May and started my current job in June as a staff accountant, but i have interned here since June 2004. The problem is that this job has no room for advancement and no tuition reimbursement. I want to go back to school for my MBA in either the summer or next fall. I was originally planning to start looking for a new job June 07, but I have seen some good opportunities lately. Do you think it looks bad if i leave my current job within the next month or so?

Thanks for your advice, Let me know if you need more info

I'm at a job where I have absolutely no motivation at all. I'm in the technology field where handling fixing and doing anything to computers is of my forte but where I work now all I do is move and set up workstations for people every once in a while. When i'm not doing that i'm sitting here bored with nothing to do and i'm the type of persono who needs to always be doing something otherwise I get bored. The money is good and the people are nice who I work with and plus i'm doing what I would like to do but not all the time. I need motivation and I need to always keep busy. Should I stay and work through it?
