I am in need of telemarketers in the East Bay Area of California. Besides Craig's List, does anyone know of any websites to advertise this which will not cost me a fortune. The fees on sights like HotJobs are a lot - ($349.00, one job posted for one month!) Thank you!

I have been offered a job, and have to have a criminal background check. I have never been convicted of anything but I have recently been charged and I am fighting these charges. Will this show up seeing as im not convicted, and if so can my potential employer refuse to hire me based on something I'm charged with but not yet convicted of? Worried...

We are a graphic design firm & contract graphic designers to work on a freelance basis. Besides using a contract, how can we keep the designer from contacting our client directly & offering their services (cutting us out)? Need professionals or experienced businesspersons to reply with valid advice--thank you in advance.

Not a typical school backpack. Something simple and nice. A backpack evenly distributes weight throughout the body especially carrying heavy loads, but debating whether to just get a messenger bag instead because it is more corporate business friendly. Your input. Thanks..

Hi all. I got a job today at a "mom n' pop" type warehouse, where I have been given the title "Picker/Packer." Now, the owner, Chuck, stated that I will be given an hourly rate of $4. Is that minimum wage? Also, I will be required to make deliveries in my truck, and when I asked about gas mileage reimbursement, he stated "after 90 days." Well, I don't have my GED, and I just got fired from McDonald's for putting my own spin on the drinks and burgers (i.e. Ketchup on the Big Macs). Well, I think I can do the job, but Chuck's wife Dottie Lee, smacked me on my buttocks really hard, and laughed. I was so mad! Should I just take it and hope it gets better? What if Dottie Lee becomes more aggressive and grabs my manmeat? How can I get mileage reimbursement? Gas is expensive! What is minimum wage? $4 doesn't sound like a lot of money!

What is the average, for those of you out there in the same or similar situtation - of salaries for a full time college instructor/professor teaching animation or game art. This is a for profit institution, benefits are average and they do offer a good retirement investment opportunity. The salary is a joke though, and from what I have found online, we are making at least 30 thousand less then other schools out of our state. We are in Illinois, you dont have to give your school, just an amount.

My friend said that I don't need a 9-5 job and an asshole boss that will be mean to me. He asked me what happened to my idea about a career in real estate field and maintaining flexible hours being my own boss.

My husband thinks otherwise, he says there are too many real estate agents out there already and that I will be waisting my time.

What should I do?

I have a friend that works for a government sector and he said he called into work today and told his supervisor that he wasn't feeling well. The supervisor asked him why was he not coming in and he got offended and felt violated that she would ask him why when he already told her he wasn't feeling good. He told her he just got off the toliet and she said ok well you have to go to the doctor and get an excuse. He said he shouldn't have to go to the doctor just because he has the runs and that he just needed to get some rest for today. She said she will mark him as "A Wall" if he doesn't have an excuse when he comes back tomorrow.

He never takes off work and has perfect attendance. He says this happens to everyone there. He asked me if I think this is a violation of his privacy because he shouldn't have to tell her why he doesn't feel well because that is his business. I agreed and I tried to find some info on the internet about employees privacy but I was not successful.

I remember the application stating that a background check would be done (Credit, legal, references, mode of living, work ethics) but it did not specifically say (unless I read it incorrectly) it would check income.
