I'm assuming from your post that you desire to be a "Headhunter."
As one that has been a Search Consultant for over a decade, I can assure you that you will get no substantial and worthwhile answers through a board such as this. My recommendation would be to work for a Search Firm (or "Headhunting" agency as you refer) for a couple years to learn the business. I hold two Masters degrees...believe me, this is NOT a business that can be "learned" properly through books, lectures......and posting boards.
On a side note, don't be lured by "big name" recruiting agencies. They often are simply franchises and offer little more and often less than smaller firms. Find a firm that is close to you....give them a call.
