I've already gone to college and have a decent job but I'm looking to find something that I could do part time that pays well. I'm asking for information on jobs that I could get the training for within a year(such as a tech school) that pays well. If you know of any jobs and salary I appreciate your help.

Here's the deal
I was offered a position that i refused due to day care being too expensive. I basically due the work anyway but at this time I am able to work from home. My old boss still works part time and my new boss isnt performing. I now understand that my new boss is planning on leaving the company which opens the door for me to return to work in this position. The money would be a little more than what i currently make but i would still have to find day care.

Should i take the job if its offered to me a second time?

I am in a position where I oversee a lot of financial activities and I report directly to the owner. One of our GM's hired an employee about 6 weeks ago. This person is compensated hourly, but has missed at least 7 full days of work, been late several times and left early a lot. They are in charge of doing the payroll for their division, including their own paycheck (I know that's dumb, but it isn't my idea!). This person in the last (Biweekly) pay period not only paid themself for 80 hours, but also an hour of overtime. I know that 3 1/2 days were missed that pay period. This pay period they have paid themself for 80 hours, I know for fact that the max this person worked was 57-58 hours.

I talked to the GM about this and he just shrugged his shoulders, like it wasn't a big deal. The funny part about that, is he let the last person go for overpaying themself! The GM knows I see all. I hate to be a nark, but it's my job.

I'm just not sure how to approach the boss....

I almost finished college for mortuary science then got preggy. I want to go back but the hours are so unpredictable I dont know how I will do it with a baby. You will probablly only know how to answer this if you are a mortician yourself because it is unlike other jobs.

Is severence pay void once you find a new job. For example, if my employer is telling me that I am entitled to two months severence (paid like how they would normally pay me if I was working) and if I find a job after one month do they still have to pay me for the other month. Help!

I took my current job as a cashier/receptionist at my local car dealership because I was bored at home and thought extra money would be nice. But all I do is sit here all day. They keep telling me that they are going to give me more work to do but they are either too busy or too lazy to do it. I got more done when I stayed home. What should I do? Should I tell them I'm incredibly bored or just go along like I have been and be thankful that my job isn't stressful?

I am an Art History major. While I am really passionate about art, the job market sucks.

I've been considering accounting. I've been working as an accounting clerk this summer, and it's been allright. I'm good at it because I'm a fast worker yet I'm also very meticulous, and I am very ethical. The thing is, I'm afraid that accounting is going to be so monotonous. I don't know if I want to spend the rest of my life dealing with numbers and in front of a computer all day.

Any accountants out there, please tell me what it's like! If I decide to go into Accounting, I'd have to transfer out of my current college because it doesn't offer an Accounting major, so this is a big deal for me. I need to know for sure whether this is right for me.

I went on an interview a week ago today. The interview went very well in my opinion, and the HR manager stated to me "Are you interested in the position, because we are interested in you for the position and think you will be a good fit". I then signed paper work for a background check.

Earlier this week, the HR Manager for the company I currently work for stated a "third party verifier" called asking for verification information, and that I was supposed to tell them to go through some website and use a code as per company policy. I know...sounds confusing, but it is a real policy. So, I called the company interviewing me to let them know how to get the background information from my current job, and I have not heard back from them, one way or the other. It has been a week, and I am wondering if they are having second thoughts about hiring me, or if the background check is taking longer than anticipated?

What do you guys think?
