I'm 16 years old and I want to apply to payless but I don't know if they hire people this young? If not, I don't know where else is a good place to work?

You don't need a work permit at 16.

The shoe industry is not high risk, so they probably wouldn't require 18 year olds. Plus your demographic generally demands lower wages than adults, so you wouldn't be a person they would refuse to look at.

Anyways, it's all up to company policy. I would just go into one and submit an application. What's the worst they are going to do: say no?
