i've always believed that trucking companies especially, have too many people in the office doing jobs that they could do just as well from home. how do i go about convincing some of them?

Unfortunately, I do NOT have any exiting home business ideas to share with you (lol). However, having been lucky enough to have had the pleasure of being your Y!A friend, I am convinced that you are a brilliant human being capable of doing anything that you put your mind into. Please, do NOT despair my friend, pick yourself up and give yourself the credit that you truly deserve as an intelligent, caring and hardworking human being that you truly are. Trucking is a potentially dangerous and exhausting line of work (as you know better than most people, myself included) - in other words, NOT something that you would want to continue doing if your heart isn't in it anymore. If you are still passionate about trucking, then don’t let an accident or two discourage you from doing what you like. On the other hand, if you feel forced to continue in this line of work merely as a means of survival, then I would say it is time to think about doing something else for a living. Don’t count yourself out because you think you are older, or don’t have other applicable work experience, etc. I could tell you to set down and make a list of your skills and match them against the possible new careers that you like to pursue or feel are qualified for. But I think that’s a rather inefficient way of going about it, even though such a list would eventually be very helpful. Instead I would recommend that you find a “good” trained and caring career counselor (even if that costs you a little bit of money) to help you pinpoint your skills and match them against what’s out there, etc. Part of the problem is that there is an overwhelming amount of information (from all angles) on this subject out there – from books to web pages, and what have you. You need a good professional to help you make sense of them all and match them against your personality, etc. Do NOT pay for someone who is out there just to charge you for the information you can easily find for FREE on the Internet. Instead consult a reputable professional (and one with access to headhunters and market connections) who is willing to sit down and work through the issues with you (in detail and with concrete suggestions) until you reach your goal. Like I said, this may cost you a little money upfront, but the pay back will be more than worth it if you take the time to find the right counselor. ... Good Luck to you my dear friend and please let us know how you are faring.

My office is at home, but I am out in the field mainly! I am an off site employee....... do you know of a person who works from home in the trucking business. Put together a plan and show them how much money they can save.

Yes there are jobs out there that you can do at home.My friend has one and it pays very well. She works for a company that verifies information that people put on job applications like schooling, past employment for different companies that want to hire a person. She loves it but she works 8 hrs a day just like if you were out working. So yes they are out there..
