know something about the products
dress and act confidently
if you dont know something, explain that you do not know but will find out and get back to them if the other salesperson doesnt help you
be friendly and respectful to everyone, even if things are going bad dont loose your cool
ask the salesperson for tips after each meeting, also ask him questions before each meeting so you know something about your client's company and their personality
compliment your supervising salesperson on a job well done if things are good and tell him something good even if things went badly- " well at least you described our product in a very positive light and gave him a competitive quote, he'll at least have that information for the future"
relly try to feel out your supervisor salesperson because how you get along with them may make or break the final decison
good luck!!!!!!!

I'm not a sales rep. in the pharmaceutical industry but I've worked in many doctors offices in the past. Make sure you know a lot about the drugs you will be promoting. Be confidant but not a know it all. Look them in the eye and slightly mimic how they stand. It will make them feel comfortable around you.

As with any other company , make sure you've done your homework regarding the company itself.
Some things you should become familiar with are sales figures, it's most popular selling drug (s), where it stands on the stock exchange. and side effects of drugs it sells.
Figures and stats are very important in this industry. Customers will want to know mostly info about the drugs and the studies, clinical trials, and failure/success rates.
Good Luck !

This is a sales job! Here's reality.
They don't care about anything except...
....how much business will you do? How hard will you work? Will you give up when you are tired of prospecting, or will you work harder? Will you work until 9pm if you have to? Will you come into the office at 6am if you have to? Do you want to make big money, or do you just want to be comfortable?
You need to give them what they want... A sales PROFESSIONAL!

All reps I have ever dealt with are dressed confidently and very attractive. It seems like a requirement. So make sure you look your best.
