When I hire, I look at experience NOT college background. I have worked hard the last 14 years and never went to college. I make more than a high school teacher. I have hired someone with a "degree" and spent more time training and fixing their issues than I did with a person I hired that had experience. The ones with a degree always think they are better than the job, and then quit thinking there si something better out there.
I know some employers frown on people without college background, but it hasn't stopped me so far!
I think, if a company only looks for someone with a "degree" they are missing out on a potential great and faithfull employee.

This is the correctly spelled/grammatically correct version of your question:

Well I live in a college town. The college students receive preferential treatment by interviewers. How do I stand out with that kind of hiring scale?

When you can write intelligently you will have a better chance of getting a job. I wouldn't hire you now either.

This can be difficult for temporary/part-time work.

My advice would be to learn how to interview strongly, that would be your first line of defense. Secondly, I would state in the interview your desire to learn the company and advance . It's expensive for companies to lose people. The fact that you want to stay for more than a year may be appealing.

You basically want to set yourself apart from the rest. Most college kids are going to quit when they move back home for the summer or graduate.
