I'm 17. It's kind of hard for me to find a job. I found an opening at the Jiffy Lube in the paper and it says no experience required, they will train, ages 17+ for auto work among other things. I think I can do it, but I've just never seen a young female mechanic before. Is it weird for such a thing?

I've been through many career changes in the past few years and there is only one thing that stays the same, my job. I've worked at walmart for 4 years now and I've tried to get out going for jobs in the medical field with schooling in CNA and EMT, in the computer world with self training in computer repair, website design, and programming(not much because no jobs to practice) and insurance. All jobs cost me a lot of money and I'm tired of trying to find a career and training for it without getting the actual job in the end. Does anyone want to hire someone who is capable of doing pretty much anything and can work really hard? I'm not worried about loosing my job at WalMart, I just feel stuck and there is not enough kissing butt in my personality to get a promotion. Leave me your email and I will contact you back if you want

I started an admittedly, rather rubbish job at an amusement arcade a week ago, and this afternoon, I was called and said that they had to 'let me go' because of 'staff changes.' (What makes me laugh is that this company has already brought in new staff, including myself) I don't know of anything I've done wrong, and in fact, I was praised by my superior on Friday for my cleaning abilities in both the kitchen and the toilets. I don't mind leaving this job, but I obviously have to work the week out. I am absolutely furious with the woman who called me with this news, and I know tomorrow, she's going to try and be all nice to me. I want a good reference, but I don't feel like treating this sad excuse for a human being with any kind of respect.

Also, any ideas of why I have REALLY lost my job? I am 23 and just got out of university. My supervisor has seen me looking through the job pages of the local paper. Could this be a reason? Should I actually ask her?

Thanks! :)

After being a business owner for over 20 years, my husband has an opportunity to perhaps work for someone else. Because this is has been his only occupation, we are unsure how to proceed in preparing his resume. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you!

I'm looking for a job again and I'm on a really strict budget and have little to no extra time to invest in a job that can't meet my budget needs. When is the earliest time I can ask how much the job pays? Is it okay to call and ask, can I ask when I fill out the app/send in my resume, or should I wait until the interview. I definitely don't want to lose the job....HELP!

I'm 30 years old and earn a respectable salary in my IT career that I've been doing for 10 years.

Now I'm totally bored of it and want a change, and thought about working for the police. But, I earn double the starting salary of a police officer, and wouldn't be able to pay my mortgage if I did that.

What do you think? Are there any options available to me?

Right now i am having to ride to work with a friend, because my license are suspended. My job is an hour and half away. I used to stay with a friend near my job when my ride wouldnt go, but now she is under investigation for drugs. (I dont do them) So i no longer stay there. My ride tends to take alot of vacation time so i am usually stuck with no ride and not going to work.

It is causing me alot of stress wondering whether or not i have a ride and job.. Should i go ahead and quit and try to find a job closer to home and if yes how should i tell my husband.

SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE!!

Should I change jobs? I work as an insurance agent making only $10.80 after 10 years? My boss is cheap! We have 20 year old phone systems, broken office supplies, etc.. I could earn $12.75 starting out and $15 in 3 years at a very reputable company. I think that's pretty good money but I'm scared I will have a hard time learning something new after so many years. Also I work in an office with 2 other ladies (one of which is very attached to me). I think she might freak! How can I break the news to her gently?

though I don't mind if it involves travel. I have no debts and have an income from investments so maximizing income is not my priority. I am highly educated with a wide range of experiences though English is the only tongue in which I am fluent.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

anyone every realize that bosses are getting more and more childish?? like mine for example, he left for a week, and we had no way of contacting him if there was a problem, so we had to use our own judgement, but our jugdement was wrong, so now he's going into a fit and wont talk to us for a few days...he's only going to be here for 3 days, and then gone again for 15...now what, just sit here and do nothing since he's not going to be here???
