I am currently interviewing for different jobs. However in the early part of October Im scheduled to take a cruise. Do you think it will be negative for me to ask my new employer if I can have 3-5 days off so I can take a cruise for my 30th b-day? I have been planning this trip for some time now and I have also been job searching. So I dont know what I should do if I do find a new job during the time of ny cruise. My parents are of the advice that many employers wont frown on the fact of giving you a few days off, especially if you inform them its for your 30th bday.

I work in Wisconsin at a smaller company and do a step above clerical work to generalize. I am going to need surgery which is not covered by insurance. This will require me taking about four weeks off work.

My question is not whether I will be protected legally - I know that I most likely won't be. My question is particularly geared towards anyone who has worked in management or owned his/her own business. If I was your white collar employee with a perfect attendance record, good work performance, and was proactive about taking time off (giving notice, offering to do some work while recovering, etc) would you fire me?

Other people who work for a boss - do you think I would be fired?

My job is an outside, high volume-low commision sales job. I travel to small towns and sell advertising. My office is my car. Often, when I complete my paperwork I drive to a public place and a shade tree. Today, I was at a park when a policeman pulled up. Evidently he had run a check on my plates and the result came back that my license was suspended. I have no idea why this would happen as I have only had one ticket about a year ago and I plead guility and paid the fine. Regardless, the policeman did not arrest me or ticket me but he did insist that I call someone to drive my car home. Which I gratefully did. My canundrum is what to tell my manager. I have only been at this job for three months and even though I think I made a bad decision accepting this job in the light of the gas increase among other things, I don't want to lose this job until I find another. Obviously, I can't drive until I get this mess straightened out. Do I lie or tell the truth.?

I work for a company that was recently bought out by a canadian business. The main office is now in Canada. The people that make out our check are in Florida but we are located in KY. I am wanting to know which work laws this company has to go by. The owners come from Canada but like I said we are in KY. Do they have to go by KY laws when it comes to how many hours we work and how we are paid or can they go by Canada laws. Also can they pick and choose which laws from each country they want to go by?

He kept calling me 'Girlfriend' and talking about shoes....then making fake vomit sounds and coughing.

I know that he is married because I have slept with his wife on many occasions but I don't know if 'Gay' is something that comes and goes like Herpes.

I honestly need help because while I feel he was making things up I just got promoted to supervisor and don't know how to act.

Any suggestions?

I'm 16 years old and I've only been to 3 interviews before, job wise. I thought they went perfectly fine, but I never got the job. So tomorrow night at 9 I have an Interview with La Senorita (a mexican restaurant, if you didn't know) and I've applied for a busser/hostess. They're pretty desperate for people to work that position, so, I'm assuming I can't botch things up too much.

But I was wondering if anyone had any serious, good tips on how to give a good interview. Because even though I may have an in for the job, I'd still like to be able to impress them.

Thanks in advance.

I am a female, and I work with a female who is constantly staring at me (and my ta ta's.) I work in an office, and it is really creeping me out. I am concerned that if I reported it to H.R. that it would come back to haunt me. Furthermore, since it is the same gender, it would be VERY AWKWARD! What do I do?
