I usually send an email around the company letting the staff know I am leaving, when my finish date will be and the name of the company I am going to. I finish the email by thanking everyone for their kindness and help (or whatever you feel), and if you intend on having a farewell party etc maybe mention that you will let them know the details when it is arranged. I would not tell people about salary and benefits in an open forum like that. If someone asks how it pays, just say that you are happy with the arrangements that you agreed on with your new employer. It is unprofessional to discuss money.

First, you need to actually quit/resign from the company. Most companies will issue some kind of communication about those employees who have resigned.
What I did was I gave 2 weeks notice. I gave the company one week to put some communication out.
I then sent an email to selected staff members (those with whom I had worked closely), saying goodbye, and offering my private email address (a yahoo address I set up specially for the purpose) if they wanted to communicate in the future. My email contained very little info, other than saying I resigned. I let those people who were interested ask me about what I was doing.

Don't have to explain yourself. Just moving to a better career or job, however you want to say it. NEVER EVER discuss salary.
Did you know that discussing salary specially in the next company you will be going to is terms for termination.

IF I'd given my two weeks notice and it had become common knowledge around the office, I'd maybe tell them what and where IF I was asked, but I wouldn't go into specifics, especially about pay.

Ask yourself whether disclosing the new job would be helpful to you. If you just want to show off, realize that information you give out can always be used against you and seldom for you.

If you plan to quit you might want to give a couple of weeks notice to your supervisor. That's common courtesy. Good luck!

Say with whatever you are comfortable saying.
Some people give ALL the details
I've heard others say "I'd rather not say"
