I work for employment agency in the health care field for casual or part-time basis. I want to terminate my employment due to the employer treated me unjustly. Do I need to notify them a 2 weeks notice? If I don't, what would be the employee's ground against me?

Is it legal for employer to record the phone conversation without your knowledge and or consent? One agency employer used it against me when she insisted that I accepted a shift which I denied. Is that considered harrassment?

Is accounting a good career to go into. Does time fly by when you're working as an accountant?

for example, when you are laid off and looking for a new job how could you find out what your former manger is saying about you to them?

I mean could you have a friend call and pretend to be a considering hiring you and ask him questions? Anyone have experience with this?

Having been the victim of this.......I didn't get a summer job that I've worked in the past two years because all of the new staff had relatives who worked there and there was no room for me.

The employer in question is apart of the public sector.... do you think that it is more prevalent in this sector, or is it an individual cultural thing?

I'm just having a whinge as sometimes it's not fair and the people that are the benefactors of it are sometimes less competent than more qualified individuals.

Have you benefited from nepotism? And if so do you think you are equally as qualified as the 'others' in your position?

..... yes I am bitter but hey sh!t happens ;o)

Hey People,

It's my last day of work tomorrow and it's customory in my company to throw a farewell party.

I know they are throwing one for me but what do I say when they put me on the spot.

I don't want to say anything stupid coz I see no point in spoiling relations as I'm leaving although I'd like to give a piece of my mind to a few people.

Any ideas on a short speech I could give.

Cheers

I was just thinking to what extent you can speak about all your virtues, nice traits in resume? All people write that they are responsible, hard-working, team-players, etc. What should one write?

A pub I know has had 7 managers in 12 months! Why do pub companies continue to have such bad employment practices?

Don’t they realise that this is highly inefficient?

If you applied for a job position in which you had experience. They told you there was an opening for this position. When they eventually hired you, they decided to give you a lesser job where you could work your way up. They were interviewing other people also, so maybe they had someone with more experience or whatever got the job. Meanwhile the position you wanted is very hard to get and you accept the offer thinking it won't be too long before you can move up. Then, after you were hired, you find out they hired someone else at the exact same time you were hired for the job you wanted. The person they hired for the position you wanted had no experience. This happened to me. What would you do? I'm thinking about quitting. It makes me mad to go to work.
