They told me they still need to interview another candidate and they will call me. Is this typical for all employers to say? When I gave my response to their question, they told me that was very well said. I can never read an interviewer's mind, can you give me some signs on how they know their interested in me?

As a kid I really wanted to be an artist, I was way ahead of my age with my drawing and creativity. when i got into middle school I realized that I couldn't make a living off that and no matter how good I got I could never be the next da vinci or michelangelo, so i started leaning toward archetecture. Honestly I am really good with math, its my strong suit. But in high school I did really bad in physics and only so-so in calc but I took Japanese got straight A's went to Japan and started to love the culture and everything about it so i knew i wanted to make it a part of my life. So in college I major in Japanese. I'm really interested in robotics, and cars. So here's what I'm thinking, either I can work on building robots in Japan like "Asimo." or I'd love to design cars. concept cars are so awesome, and I could use drawing and japanese in these careers. But I'm afraid because I lost confidence in my engineering abilities. can anyone in the field give me guidance or advice?

I am graduating in Dec. with a degree in Elem. Ed. I really like kids, I KNOW I could be a good teacher, have had tons of experience, and have spent the past 5 yrs of my life working for it. However, I don't know if it's what I want to do at THIS time in my life. AHH!!!

My fiance and I are getting married next year and his job will easily support us. Don't get me wrong, I WANT to work, I just don't know if teaching is right for me at this point in my life. I have thought about doing something with weddings, but I haven't had any experience at it, other than planning my own.

My mom is a teacher (the biggest reason that I decided to become one). I don't want to disappoint my family because they have thought I was going to be a teacher all along, but I do want to do what's right for me in my life.

I feel like I'm back to freshman year, not knowing what I want to do. How do I decide what's right for me? Anyone ever experienced anything similar?

Stories would be great!!

I had an interview on August 11th and they told me they would call me either way if I got the job or not, and it's been 1 week and a day and nothing yet. It's driving me crazy and I can't call them because I don't even remember the name of the lady who interviewed me. I would look stupid if I called and said I didn't remember her name.

The General Manager of where I work has a son who also works there. His son is a total jerk to me. He says and does mean things to me, and when I ask him to stop, he cops an attitude and says things like "why, do you really think I could get fired from this place?" It's as if he has a licsense to do whatever he wants, and to make matters worse his dad just looks the other way. Outside of this situation I really like my job, but how do I deal with this jerk?

I HATE my job. Actually, I like the job, but not the environment at work. I feel about as welcome there as a turd in a puchbowl. I have a new baby, and would love to be a stay at home mommy, bit finances restrict this. How much crap should anyone have to stomach for a meager paycheck? Should I stick it out until something else comes along, or do I throw caution to the wind?

I am a college graduate with a humanities degree (what a waste). Anyway, I've heard that there are amazing opportunities in Canada right now in connection to the oil and natural gas industries for both skilled and non-skilled workers. Does anyone know whether it is possible for an American without trade skills to get their foot in the door with one of these Canadian companies and to also get a working visa? Also, any extra information about the current Canadian job boom situation would be welcomed. I'm particularly interested in information regarding entry level opportunities.

I write alot. I write poetry, stories, but mostly I'm interested in writing a book. I'm young, but I've been writing for almost eight years. I don't want to make a career out of writing, but I write all the time, and I want to get my work out, and share it. Besides, why should I just let it sit. I want to know how to get in contact with publishers, and how I can get my work published?
