They told me they still need to interview another candidate and they will call me. Is this typical for all employers to say? When I gave my response to their question, they told me that was very well said. I can never read an interviewer's mind, can you give me some signs on how they know their interested in me?

The responses you get from interviewers can vary a lot. Depends on how you did, how other candidates did, and how professional the person is, among other things. In general, what they said is completely normal.

If they gave direct positive feedback to some of the things you said, that's great no matter what.

I always like to close with this: "Are there any concerns that you have about my ability to do this job?" (Since they'll almost always ask something like, "Do you have any other questions?")

You get some instant feedback, and if there is a problem, don't look dejected. Instead use that opportunity to address whatever they said in a positve manner.

It is fairly typical for an employer to be required to interview more than a single person before offering the job.

If you ask them smart questions it helps get an idea of what they are thinking. Sometimes it's impossible to tell what they think.

you gotta trust your gut... if you think it went well it probably did... i can usually tell during or just after the interview. did they fake the smile at the end or was it genuine?? did you leave feeling confident? pretend they didnt say we have to interview someone else? how would you have felt then? you can only try your best and if you dont get the job consider it good practice... good luck to you!!

the whole " we'll call you later, we have another interviewer" thing is just protocol. did they ask what seemed like follow up questions? were they taking notes?and from your standpoint, a good firm handshake and eye contact makes all the difference.

sorry, its not always possible for us to find out the desicion of other person by fis face because every person has different face expression to express his decision, but if he says wait outside,or he smiled,or wanna to ask you more questions.it may be the identification of selection

That's pretty standard. If you can feel a connection, that's a good sign.
