I write alot. I write poetry, stories, but mostly I'm interested in writing a book. I'm young, but I've been writing for almost eight years. I don't want to make a career out of writing, but I write all the time, and I want to get my work out, and share it. Besides, why should I just let it sit. I want to know how to get in contact with publishers, and how I can get my work published?

It is best to get an agent - many publishing houses won't take unagented submissions; however, a few do. Get the Novel & Short Story Writer's Market and the Poetry Writer's Market from the library.

Also, go and research books for first time authors seeking to get published (like "Putting Your Passion Into Print"), to gain industry knowledge and advice.

You don't talk to a publisher. You talk to an agent. He/she will tell you to learn to punctuate, and remind you that "a lot" is two words.

Pubishing is a VERY competetive field. You'll need to write a lot better than this sample to even contemplate publication.
