What does a manager of a band actually do????

manages the band - where they go, the route they take, how they travel, where they perform, negotiate fees, manage bank acc't for the business, arrange for press, costuming, makeup, hiring staff, travel arrangements, recording contracts etc etc etc

The administrative, organizational and grunt work as specified by the director in school, and as required by the promoter in the real world. Duties will broaden or narrow depending on the organizational structure and what needs to be done at a given time.

set-up gigs, makes sure the group gets there, that they perform, that there are no problems, and that everyone gets paid. Try to get the band a contract to record. Stuff like that...
