I'm 17. It's kind of hard for me to find a job. I found an opening at the Jiffy Lube in the paper and it says no experience required, they will train, ages 17+ for auto work among other things. I think I can do it, but I've just never seen a young female mechanic before. Is it weird for such a thing?

Go for it. There are some women that are very good at it.

woman mechanics are a uncommon species. you spot them in video clips continually yet you no longer often ever see any in actual existence. it extremely is in all likelihood because of the fact mechanic jobs have been ruled via adult males. autos = adult males. yet once you like engaged on autos, you need to shop on with your hobby. all of us can do something those days. you have male nurses. woman shape workers. Gender shouldn't cut back what you desire to do in existence. whilst/in case you become an set up mechanic, i'm optimistic you will desire the lads and ladies bringing of their autos to have you ever artwork on them.

Automotive is a lousy dirty low paying field to go into, if you must bend wrenches use that to get into diesel mechanics, it pays better.

If that's your calling, let it be. May be fun and a cool new experience too.
