anyone every realize that bosses are getting more and more childish?? like mine for example, he left for a week, and we had no way of contacting him if there was a problem, so we had to use our own judgement, but our jugdement was wrong, so now he's going into a fit and wont talk to us for a few days...he's only going to be here for 3 days, and then gone again for 15...now what, just sit here and do nothing since he's not going to be here???

Your manager seems like he does not care at all about the company or the employees. If he plans on leaving for a week and again for 15 days he should have had a way for you to contact him.

Perhaps you should take to your boss' boss and tell him/her what your manager did and that he was upset with you guys but is leaving again with no way to contact them. His boss' boss would at least talk to him or bring someone in who can help you while he is gone, hopefully.

does he have a boss?....this might be an alternative way of approaching this...if not i think that id seek employment elsewhere or just take initiative and do what you think the boss would do...if its not good enough for him then tell him if he wants it done a certain way then maybe he should stick around an do it!

Sounds like your in a "no win" situation. Better to do what you can and act, than put everything off until the boss is around.

Good luck!

My advice to you is to find out exactly what he expects from you while he's gone. He should communicate clear expectations about how things should be handled during his absence. If he doesn't, it's his own fault for not planning and proactively addressing concerns prior to his departure.

Failure to plan on his part should not mean a crisis on your part.

I don't know which is worse...that or what one of my former bosses did. He left us an excruciatingly detailed itinerary...down to the number of beds in his hotel room. Eek!

Take your issues above him because that is where changes can be made.
