I've always wanted to be in IT.

I've been woefully unemployed for the past several months (yes, living with my folks) after getting terminated from my job for misconduct (I was under a lot of pressure and came off as rude to a few customers however, my boss wasn't mad at me tho).

I have a B.A. in history and I'm trying to decide what to do with grad school (either history or library science; I want to be a history lecturer at a community college but my career counselor advised me to research everything first).

Now, while I'm doing this, I need a job but I don't want to work in fast food (that was my last job). I need something that will pay for my medical insurance and I want to get a job without being overqualified (someone told me that "overqualified" is a stupid idea made up by HR depts. for job seekers with better qualifications than the interviewer; you're either qualified or not).

Right now, money is tight and I really need a job at the moment. Suggestions are welcome.

I'm trying to decide on my future. I have a BA in Theatre arts and have always wanted to be a film actor. I recently have been doing small rolls on a FOX television show called Prison Break.
However, there is a Theatre Arts teaching job offered to me for the upcoming school year.
Do I follow my dreams and risk making little money trying to get to a real acting career or do I do the responsible thing and take the teaching job and have steady income, insurance, etc?

Hey everyone.

Question 1:
For job references (for teens who don't have little or none work experience) can a teacher and the parent I babysat for be used? And how do I approach them about it?

Question 2:
Can you ask for references when you have just applied for a job, but don't have an interview or the job yet? Like you get them just incase they are needed?

Thanks in advance

Me and a coworker were 5 minutes late to work this morning and he basically yelled at us to "get in here" "get in here right now", and proceeded to, very loudly question our whereabouts and reasons.....in front of other coworkers as well as subordinates.

I just basically want to express my disagreement as well as the unprofesional conduct to him as well as our top management.

There are no previous issues or incidents, just tired of the lack of respect and continual verbal abuse.

Thanks in advance.

Now, I'm not talking about a desk job with the FBI, but a more active and physical job. Like undercover work, intelligence gathering, and the like. I know the critical skills, but I can't figure out the best path for getting into the type of FBI work I want to do.

I've worked at my places, especially fast food. Why is that people over you carry a chip on their shoulder thinking that they can treat you however they want to treat you? Like one day, I wasnt feeling good emotionally at work because I was having problems at home and my manager said something to me that made me even more upset. I made a facial expression, but not towards him though and I guess that got him offended. I mean, if he noticed me acting unusual, why couldnt he come up to me and asked me what was wrong or if there was anything that he could do to help me instead of being defensive. It doesnt hurt to ask your employees what's wrong with them if they're acting unusual.

Why are all sales jobs commission only?

I've always been one of the top sales people where ever I've worked, what ever the product.

I am motivated by doing the job right and being the best. I'll do that on every call or client or account. it don't matter if its performance pay.

I've always gotten a kick out of jobs that advertise "Unlimited Earning Potential!" most people in the business that I know looking for work will always laugh at those jobs, and DELETE them.

I've had my resume out there for about two months, and willing to relocate almost anywhere. So far about 30 insurance companies, 6 advertising companies and more fly-by-night others than I remember. NONE of these companies offered a base salary!

I don't want to make $475,000.00 per year from my 9-5 job, I'm a realistic guy. just be honest with me. I have investments that will make me rich some day, I just want cash flow and security. In turn I will bring them great results.

WHERE ARE THE GOOD SALES JOBS ???

Hello,
i am 19 years old, i have three years of college education ahead of me in september, since i am on 2 mnths vacation from school i am doing a full time job 5 days a week early morning.
my dad has a full time job but is not paying him very well, my mothers job is on call basis, so if they call her, only then she can go. we have our own house & car and we are paying heavy mortgage. we make just enough to feed ourselves. my dad was on a executive level in our country (india) with nestle. and could not find a job of his field here and is very frustrated, it has been 5 years since we came to canada. i want to help my parents a lot but i also have to complete my education. if their is any suggestion anybody can give me. i was thinking of opening any kind of buisness ( i have excellent qualities to be in buisness). but then it is the risk of the buisness not working well and then it will be hard again on us. all i want if good life for my parents and I. please any kind of suggestions.
