dont chew gum. dont wear jeans or shirts with writing or pictures on them. dont wear sneakers. dont lie. dont exaggerate your qualifications, because you will be expected to follow through. dont wear too much perfume. dont bring a friend to hang out while you have the interview. if you need someone to take you there, have them drop you off and then leave. dont swear. dont bring an ipod or mp3 player - leave your cell phone in the car. do not bring snacks or anything to drink - a bottle of water is usually acceptable.

do brush your teeth right before going. do iron your clothes. do shower and make sure to wear deoderant and a small amount of perfume or cologne. bring any information the interviewer may need, ie: drivers license, social security card, resume, birth certificate.. ect. if you have a purse, make sure it's cleaned out and able to close the way its supposed to. do make sure there is no dirt visible on your shoes. do wear a respectable amount of jewelry. if you have a tongue ring or any kind of facial ring, take it out. the tounge ring can be hidden if you watch how you speak. do speak clearly and with words that show you have some brains. do look directly in the interviewers eyes. if you are wearing nail polish, make sure it's freshly done. If it's chipping off, that's a sign of being unorganized.

good luck.

Be well groomed and well dressed. Be ten minutes early (but no more than that.) Don't bring a friend or family member along with you!!

Make eye contact, speak clearly, shake hands....smile. Be prepared to talk about your best quality and your worst quality--but make the bad quality something minor...like "I try to do too many things at the same time."

Rehearse a mock interview with a friend until you have confidence.

If it's more than an entry level job, know something about the company, and have questions ready if the interviewer asks you if you have any.

The most important thing is to seem likeable, flexible, and reliable.

no matter what kind of job it is look good when u go in...no holes in pants,a belt to hold those pants up..etc....show up a few minutes early...introduce yourself and give a good FIRM handshake...it doesnt hurt to say sir or maam....look your interviewer in the eyes when talking..find out what you can about the company so that you are not completly in the dark about everything...also,if you can get some letters of recomendation from other employers this might help also...be prepared..take a pen with you and any addresses or phone numbers you may need...on the way out shake hands again and thank them for the interview...if you dont find out then if you get the job or not write a thank you note and mail it the next day thanking them for the interview and in about a week call and let them know you are still interested..i have got jobs just by that act alone because they know i am really interested and it brings attn to me when they are looking at apps and resumes.....good luck..i hope this helps

Going alongside to the interview is definately priceless in spite of if its only for the interview adventure. The interview is likewise a 2 way aspect, no longer merely for the corporation to make certain in the journey that your suitable yet also to make certain if the pastime is suitable for you. in case you do not choose the pastime, tell them why. they are going to comprehend you for telling the reality, and may also be able to handle your concerns or grant you with a position which will be extra suitable. in case you quite won't be able to carry your self to inform them head to head that you do not choose the pastime, you are able to verbally settle for it then call them decrease back later to say you've been provided a much better suitable pastime elsewhere. do merely not mess them about too a lot and they gained't recommendations. ask your self why you do not choose the pastime to boot. Its frequently a lot less puzzling to discover more desirable employment at the same time as your already in a job so may be priceless taking it even for a short era of time. sturdy success with the pastime hunt!

Get cleaned up, but not over done. Where a nice pair of pants, collar shirt and no sneakers or sandals. Don't be late. Be pleasant and polite and positive and confident and look everybody in the eyes. Do a little research about the company and the job. Be prepared to verbally provide 2 references (people who aren't related to you) and the hourly rate you'd like to be paid. Think about your past work experience and skills, including what you learned in school or volunteering and how you could bring those skills to the job. Good luck.

Be prepared and be on top of your game from the moment you arrive at the interview site. I once had this candidate smoked up a storm right outside the front door right before her interview. Little did she know there were cameras all over and we had tinted windows where she can't see us, but everyone inside can see her.
