I guess you will have to go back to college and study IT, shouldn't have any probs with your previous experience.

It all depends on what you want to do in IT and what field of engineering you were in. If you graduated with a degree in electrical engineering, you might find work as a computer tech.

As someone who worked in and now teaches IT classes, I can tell you that you most likely will have to take some computer classes. And if you get your A+ certification, that will also improve your chances.
