I've just been hired for a new job. The job I currently work at wasn't giving me enough hours and I'm trying to think of a way to tell my boss that Friday will be my last day working for him. Also, I would like to tell him that i appreciate all the work he has given me this summer. How can I word that so that it doesn't make him mad?

Last Thursday, I first saw the job listing on the staffing agency's website - I applied for the job the same day. On Saturday, I saw a similar job on Company X's website, so I also applied. In a follow-up call to the staffing agency today, the recruiter informed me that the job was actually at Company X and that I should NOT apply directly to them! At this point, I wasn't sure what to say so I said nothing. What should I do? Will it look bad that I applied to the same job twice using two different methods?

my history: in my country, we always respect our parents' wishes, that's why when my mother wanted me to take something in the medical field, first i took up respiratory therapy and graduated last year, then im going back this year to study nursing because it's what my mother wants. she is open to the idea that i want to go back to school to study something that i really want, it's just that she wants me to have a nursing degree as a backup plan in case i don't get a job that i want.

my personality: im kind of an introvert, im not mean or anything, it's just that i prefer to work individually, in an office preferably where i have my own room, or my own cubicle. i like routines, i feel confident when i know how to do the task and surprises or spontaniety oftentimes shakes my confidence. im pretty good with math, if there is a job that i could compute all day, i would take it. i know it sounds like an accountant's job, but i want something that is stable and not freelance to be cont..

Both of these are online travel agencies that promise you a home based business. I am a working mom looking to make some extra cash and I came across both of these ads for a home based business. Both companies require an initial investment, hence my research to ensure they are legit and not just trying to scam me out of my money.

A couple of friends told me that if one contact information changes,
not to buy new cards but to make the handwritten changes directly to the pre-existing card? What do you think? Does this vary according to one's profession, job, or field? Thank you for your detailed and constructive respones.

When I did this last Saturday I had to stand for 4 hours with a huge sign on a long wooden pole. I was very bored because hardly anyone came up to me for more information. I needed the money or I wouldn't have done it. There is another event to promote in a month so how do I keep from getting bored whilst standing there. I need both hands on the pole if it is windy but if not one hand can hold it. Music is not a good idea when people want to talk to me about the event. What to do?

This is a recurring nightmare I have had for many years and it's getting worse. The anxiety in the dream is the part about what to say to the office manager or supervisor. If you're not coming in, or you're going to be late, you have to call in before 9. In my dream it's now 11 or 4 or whatever and I cannot think of what to say for why I forgot to come in to the office. If I have a very reasonable and plausible explanation, in the dream I can call up and say it and the nightmare is over.

I think the reason I'm having the dream in the first place is because in the morning when I'm getting ready for work I sometimes start doing things around the house and become so preoccupied that I lose track of time, but not to the extreme of my dream! Not yet anyway. :-)
