I was wondering how I get an entry-level job, because I have never worked and don't have a resume? Also is there any way I can get a writing job if I don't have a resume and have never worked? Are there any good free sites where I can register and apply to different jobs online? Thank you.

You can work in one place--and live in a different place if you like.

I have good work ethics and I see people at work that will snitch on anybody for anything. I don't understand their motivation, because they have to realize that it puts themselves under the microscope. One wrong move and somebodies going to get back at them.

Some employers say smoking and bad health habits effect their health care costs. So they should be able to fire them for that reason.

I recently received an offer that is the same as what I'm making now. The company seems fairly stuck to that number. I would like to give them the opportunity to make up the difference between their offer and what I would accept.

What would be easier for them to give up: options on a 3-year vesting schedule - or - signing bonus cash?

Thank you.

I have an interview tomorrow for a paralegal position. I'm wondering if I really have to wear a suit. It's 100 degrees outside!

Also, I've heard some people still think girls should wear a skirt, not pants, to an interview. Any advice?

I have worked in the same job for about a year, and there is going to be a position opening in another department of my company that I would really like to try and go for. However, it seems like the position is practically already given to another person. She is very competent, but I feel that I would be as well, and deserve a fair shot. What should I do?

ps. the job I have now and the other job work under the same manager. Should I talk to him about it?

I gave my resume to a staffing agency to find me a permanent position. The staffing agent said that I should not apply for any jobs myself; instead, I should notify the rep of any jobs I see that I would like to apply for.

Should I do what he says, or should I apply for jobs on my own, anyway? What could it hurt?

He still hasn't explained to my satisfaction why I should search for a job through him.

He claims that if I apply for a job and then he submits my resume for a *different* job within the same company, the recruiter will get confused about...errr...something...this is where is didn't make any sense.

Any idea as to whether or not I should rely on this staffing agent solely to submit my resume?
