my history: in my country, we always respect our parents' wishes, that's why when my mother wanted me to take something in the medical field, first i took up respiratory therapy and graduated last year, then im going back this year to study nursing because it's what my mother wants. she is open to the idea that i want to go back to school to study something that i really want, it's just that she wants me to have a nursing degree as a backup plan in case i don't get a job that i want.
my personality: im kind of an introvert, im not mean or anything, it's just that i prefer to work individually, in an office preferably where i have my own room, or my own cubicle. i like routines, i feel confident when i know how to do the task and surprises or spontaniety oftentimes shakes my confidence. im pretty good with math, if there is a job that i could compute all day, i would take it. i know it sounds like an accountant's job, but i want something that is stable and not freelance to be cont..

my friend had this job, she has an economics degree and said that her work consisted of transferring or copying and pasting reports and she made good money. i forgot the job description though.
if i were to find a job suitable for my interest and personality, any suggestions? and what kind of degree would i need for it? i've grown all my life, learning more medical stuff and i barely know anything about business. i want a job that is stable, where i know what to do (no spontaneity) something like a 9-5 office job that i don't have to speak to people as much if possible. not that i don't want to socialize, like what i said, i just prefer to work alone.

well these are only suggestions based on limited information and by no means should you make a decision based on this...but take it with a grain of salt.
Accounting- there are many departments you can work for that are not freelance, you can do accounting for an agency and work in a cubicle and have a routine...thats what I do.
Math teacher- either high school or college
Bank- anything in finance
you can work your way up in business and become a Chief Financial Officer for a company. There are many many options...
Also you can take a career assesment test that helps you determine the things you are most interested in you can usually find these at college career centers or maybe online. Then research those fields. Call some people who do those jobs and ask them what they like, dislike, you can pick their brains about their job before you commit to more school. Also you can intern at a place where you might want to someday work. Try as much as you can to learn about the field and make decisions based on facts and not just suggestions. Take care, I know its hard...but keep up the hard work.

I think you could find a job that respects your mother's wishes and follows your heart, too.
Maybe something like Medical Transcription... you are in the hospital, in your own cubicle or room, tying the doctor reports into the computer database. Maybe school nurse would be a good job, because you can pretty much expect to deal with the same complaints from kid to kid to kid AND you get your own office AND the security of knowing you are the top nurse.. Or in-home-health care, where you work with the same clients every day who have the same needs every day.
Hang in there. The right job will come along, and you will be happy with it. Just remember, carreers can last a moment, but life lasts a lifetime! Do something that makes you happy!

I guess since you're already in the medical field, you should use the education you have until you know that you want to do something else. With your level of education, you could get a job as a human resourses person or a whole bunch of other things.
Another thing you can always do is sell insurance. Insurance people make a good deal of money and have their own hours, desk to themselves, and can have things the way they want them. You could ask around at the insurance agencies where you live to have someone train you and you can get your license while you work for someone else.

With all that medical background why dont you take the courses that you want as well and then get into the buisness end of a hospital? You can process insurance or work in a office in the medical field and have both your dream job and not hurt your mother by going against her wishes.

If she's recent technique medical care and feels waiting to tackle accountability a solid suggestion could be some thing initially that she might appreciate and not too uncovered to the typical public if this triggers her stress and PTSD. You can make a fine nurse, I'm sure, and it is possible to work in smaller units.
Have you ever given though on what YOU really would like to work with if it was your choise? Are you creative? do you like to work with people in spite of being introvert? (it is not negative you know), are you good with numbers?
You know there are tests available on the internet where you answer several questions (like 50) and it gives you a direction to what you fit into. I dont know right now which sites those are, but you can try to google different test-sites.
Good luck on your choise : )

In the United States, office managers for physician's do very well. You need to be detail oriented and accurate filing insurance claims etc.
This way you can stay in the medical field and have a office position that involves math and origanizational skills.

You may like being a nurse if you can get into a nice quiet place, or do nursing care in peoples homes. Be careful though because a lot of nurses are mean and competitive if you work in a hospital and if you are not aggressive you could be in big trouble.
