Of course I'm not talking about working in a bank per se (tea bod etc...) but more towards the higher salary positions to do with investments and so forth.

I am 26 now and have served in the military for the last 10 years. I left school with grade A GCSEs in maths English and sciences and I am now considering further learning through correspondence courses to broaden my career choices when my service time is up. I already hold a position equal to a junior manager and I have been a Section Commander in operational theatres such as Iraq; so I already have the qualities required to lead people and manage assets effectively.

So, back to the question in hand, what would be my first steps towards working in investments?

When the interviewer asks you what is teamwork, what is the perfect answer? and if you want to add other answers to frequently asked questions, I would gladly appreciate it.

I read somewhere ( http://www.groovejob.com/resources/teen-jobs-legal/ ) that 14-15 year-olds can be hired legally and work from 7am - 9pm in the summer and 7am - 7pm in the winter. Is this accurate? I live in Mississippi (gulf coast), and I know they have a shortage of workers here. The places I would be able to apply to would be Burger King, Dairy Queen, gas stations (BP & Chevron) and a grocery store (not a chain.)

I had a dynamite job with AT&T for 14 years. Great pay, short commute, pretty decent co-workers. Then, layoff fever swept through the company and I was one of 10,000 downsized nationally in 2002. It's like, one year I'm a "Leading Legend" and two years later I'm just a seniority number.

For the LIFE of me, I haven't been able to find a decent job since! I not only earn 50% less at the company I currently work for, but it's also the cheapest company on the planet.

I am so tired of hearing people say "...oh, my layoff was the best thing that ever happened to me..." and "...oh, you just have to EMBRACE the opportunity for change...". Sometimes, things just don't work out right after a layoff.

A few weeks ago I had the best interview I had ever had. I just KNEW I had that job! Only to get a "...thanks, but no thanks" letter in the mail this week. I do my best to stay positive, but sometimes it's hard not to picture myself in 20 years living under a bridge. Dang!

I am wondering where you work and what wages you are paid just out of curiosity. I have my associates in Science, Majoring in Medical Assisting but enjoy the adrenaline rush from working at a hospital. I think we are severely underpaid for such a physically demanding job. You too?
