I have not worked in a year because I had a lengthy chronic illness (nothing contagious). Now I really need to get back to work. What is the best way to address this with potential employers?

What if you thought you were discriminated against in the hiring process because of, for example, your disability status, color, or religion. How would you handle it? Do you think this can ever be proven?

Hi, my girlfriend (who is a nurse) has recently moved from Sydney, Australia to Vancouver, Canada, to work on contract in a hospital for 12 months. She has asked me to come over as well, but ideally I would like to find a job while I was there. I work in IT (Unix systems admin and support) and would like to find out if I can move to Vancouver and live with my girlfriend, and then look for work in the IT industry while I'm there- or would I have to find a job in Vancouver while I'm in Australia and then apply for a Canadian work permit before I can move there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Would you want to be a teleworker? I mean somebody who works from home, or any other place, using the Internet (a real job, not scams). Writing, designing, consulting, designing, I don't know. There are so many options.

Or do you still prefer commuting to the office every morning?

Does teleworking has a future?

I have one more year left of graduate school and I teach piano on the side for my income. I really love teaching, and the fact that I get to set my own hours, days, pay, etc. But the fact that I'm not interfacing with others (which I really enjoy), and the ability to travel within an office environment lures me to finish up school and get a job within the government or something. I feel like I should be concentrating my efforts centrally toward a single career path. How do I pick office vs. teaching or both? Any suggestions on what I should do?

A couple of months ago i got a saturday job in a shoe shop. Im at school at the moment so i've just been working saturdays and sundays, but now the summer is coming up and it's a busy time they want me to work five or six days a week, full time. I really dont want to do that much, im happy to do one or two extra days but i have other stuff i want to do and at the end of the day it isnt my full time job!! Problem is, most of the other kids have agreed to do lots of hours, and my manager has been kind of pressuring me into it a bit so i dont know if i should say no or just accept the hours begrudgingly? If i say no, how can i do this without them making my life a misery? help!!

I live in Minnesota and I'm looking for a job this summer, however few people hire 14 year olds.

I'm hoping for a job somewhere other then a fast food place (McDonalds, Burger King) however, I realize that most jobs that don't involve flipping burgers aren't availible for people 14 years of age.

So far I've applied at the Carmike Theatre (just put in the application today)

Does anyone else have any other suggestions please?

Thanks!
