I work on a monthly schedule that doesnt change for a whole month and I usually get my work schedule a week after the month has began. I end up having to cancel plans i.e. doctors visits, weekend getaways, baby shower...etc.. I just need to know if they are required to give me an adequate amount of time so I can schedule my outside life around it.

I'v only been working there a few months & already I've become suspected of stealing because my register keeps repeatedly coming up short. I'm afraid that if i don't quit they'll eventually fire me because no matter how careful I am the same thing keeps happening & I have no idea why. I'm also afraid that if I quit now it'll make me look guilty, but I know it's probably unwise for me to stay. I don't know if I'll get into some kind of trouble legally for leaving or what, but I have to do SOMEthing. Plus i really don't like it there because it's been a lot of pressure to not make mistakes & I don't wanna deal with it anymore.

I am doing a commercial and need a 30 second music score. Any ideas where I can purchase one online? I need it in a rush, so websites that sell them pre-made would be best.

I had a web design contract go bad, where we were given a small deposit to start and there were so many difficulties in them adding work and all kinds of stuff that I ultimately dropped the project. Now the guy says I have to finish it or he's suing for some crazy amount claiming business costs and all that. Ultimately, he kept the site that I built and everything so at most, can't he only get me for the deposit he put up?

The site was near completion before this all happened, and my partner dropped the ball and didn't help me with any of it. He was friends with the client so convieniently, he's been left out of the attack. Is that even possible and what should I do?

I was told that since our roles were not outlined in the contract, my partner and I were both responsible for 50% each. Is that true and if this were to all go down, would I not have a case against my former partner for conspiring against me with the client?

So, I have an acct with WAMU (Washington Mutual) and made 1 late payment a month or 2 ago. Since I have online billing, and no paper statements (and they don't offer APR online)... I called to find out my APR. It's at 31.49%!!!! I owe $634 on it. I want to know which is better to do. Make higher payments and then cancel the card once its paid off ... or make a $200 payment today and close it... and keep paying on it? Any advice would be fantastic. Thanks!!

I've just become eligible for insurance where I work. Today I found out that I will have to take a nicotine swab test and if it comes back positive my rates will be higher.
I DO NOT use tobacco. However, I live in a household in which someone smokes pretty heavily. I've been told that I will probably not pass the nicotine test because of this. I understand that second hand smoke is unhealthy for me, so I don't need a lecture. I'm very anti-smoking, but unfortunately, I'm stuck in my situation for now. I think it's absolutely horrible that an insurance company can penalize me for a behavior practiced by someone else. Is there anything I can do about this?

I was in the process of combining checking accounts with my fiance. A check that I had written out of my account for auto insurance apparently wasn't immediately cleared like it always has been, it took a few weeks. In that time, I had moved money into her account, put both our names on it, then closed the one that I had. After that, I got a notice that the check had bounced, and I ended up having to pay a fee because of it.

A bookkeeping error on my part, and I take responsibility for not triple-checking that all transactions had been processed. I've never missed a payment before, this would essentially be my first offense.

How will this affect my credit score, if at all, and how might this affect what kind of loan I can get on a mortgage?

I have been applying for jobs with the state of Fl in regards to being a probation officer. Two weeks ago, I signed a conditional offer of employment. When I called to check on the status of my physical and drug screen, I was told there was a hiring freeze. So....I was crushed. Anyways, I decided to try one more avenue....nurse recruiting. I have a little background in that....although it is 75 miles away from me. I went on the interview today and did very very well. The woman who interviewed me kept trying to get her boss to interview me so I wouldn't have to come back for a 2nd interview....long drive. She told me her boss "loved me" and that they definitely wanted me and I would be starting around Dec. 17th and that she just needed to do a background check and verify previous employment. I have gone through this before with the state of Fl and then been disappointed. Should I really think that I have the job? It went so well. Do they usually offer the job on the first interview?

because promotions don't pay that much better and you work twice as many hours and it limits your ability to learn new skills?
They say you should never stay at one company longer than 5 years because you will stagnate, and the only purpose a job serves is that it pays you to learn new skills. So you shouls learn as much as you can (on the job and off), meet a few good mentors along the way, refuse any promotions, and then move on and learn something new at the next job. And no two jobs should be similar too.
Is all of this true?
sounds pretty radical but awesome to me !
