So my husband wants to take me to a restaurant where i'd really like to work, tonight. It's a casual pub/restaurant so nothing fancy. However, i'm just a little worried of how it's gonna look if i ask the people that work tonight if they are hiring?? What do ya'll think?? what would be a good way to lay it out?? and also, should i dress like i usually do, or ?.. what would you wear?

Thanks for ANY help! I'm a lil nervous lol.. Oh and wish me luck ; )

NO harm in asking if they are hiring. Just don't do the whole application process tonite. I would say dress as though you worked there.

Go for it! Strike up a conversation with the staff. Ask is this a good place to work. Then ask if they are looking for people. This will probably get them to bring a manager or owner over for a chat. Dress in a way that you feel comfortable and remember you are a customer until you sign on as an employee. Good luck!

Most places have uniforms. For your interview dress nicely skirt, slacks a nice top (not to revealing) and a dressey jacket and clean shoes, not over done makeup and your hair well groomed and not to much jewerllery, make sure your nails are clean, if you are wearing nail polish clear or an extremely pale colour. If you work nights it will save a lot on the baby sitting.People want workers, they aren't going to think anything.great idea that your husband is baby sitting and you are helping with the bills and other expenses. Best of all no baby sitters to pay. good luck

I thnk if you want to be taken seriously, you should go back tomorrow morning. That would make the best overall impression. You should dress like you cared enough about getting the job to dress up. You might get the job even if you don't go "above and beyond" but what if it is between you and somone else and those things put you over the edge. Stay on top of your game and always try to impress.

I am going to suggest keeping personal and business seperate. Go there, and try out there place. Go back the next day using the fact that you went there for dinner, and were so impressed that it made you want come back and work there. When you do go in tomorrow, dress professionally.

i think its a good idea! i would dress casual but presentable, and be really nice to you'r server. Ask questions about if they are looking for anyone and if everything works out well, leave a good tip.
