Hi,

I am a U.S. citizen living in Argentina as a permanent resident, with my wife (dual U.S./Argentinean citizen) and my son (dual as well). Almost all of my income qualifies for the Foreign earned income exclusion. I have about $20,000 in a traditional IRA that I contributed to prior to the move. My question: If I convert this to a Roth IRA, how can I calculate how much penalty I'll have to pay? I suspect that if I convert less than the standard deduction amount on my tax return, that I won't have to pay anything, but perhaps I'm missing something. I googled for a little while, but couldn't find how to calculate this. Maybe i should have just gone directly to IRS website and read the tax code.

Thanks,

Jason

My brother-in-law had the gastric bipass surgery instead of the 3 days planned, they had 'complications'. The doctors did all that they could do. And still are a year and a half later. The hospital where it was done is 240 miles away.
They own a small business that is failing fast with men depending on their jobs.
They have health insurance and insurance does pick up a huge amount but the remainder is astronomical.
I know they are not any more special than anyone else.. but with many prescriptions being between $400 -$900 for a couple day supply.
It's not humanly possible? Help? Where do we start for help?
Their business & family farm is their pride and accomplishment of everything they've worked for all of their lives. They did everything right. They were covered when they went in.
Is there anyone that will help?

I'm a college graduate who has been working in an office setting for the last 10 years. Basically I see clients and sit in front of my computer every day for roughly ten hours. The pay is good, but the job is very stressful due to deadlines, tough boss, some uncooperative and ignorant coworkers that impact my work directly, and certain clients who make my life miserable.

I feel very burned out and this stress has been having a big impact on my life, i.e. sleep disorder, aloofness toward family members, high blood pressure, mood swings, etc. I'm coming to realization that a job in an office setting is not my calling. I just don't want to sit every day for ten hours and go through all this stress. I've been trying to change the job, but I know I will end up in an office setting.

I know that a majority of people, including me, sometimes have to suck it up and be happy that we have a job. However, I feel that everyone has a right to pursue his/her happiness. What should I do?

Is this legal? They asked me to pay $435 to lock in the rate. Countrywide appraised our house 50K lower than what we purchased it for 2 years ago. In short, Countrywide did not refinance our home. Now, i cannot refund the $435. Is this legal practice?

Dogs of the Dow theory made famous by Michael O'Higgins. It takes all of the research, strategy and guesswork out of investing. Here's how it works
~ Once each year, look at the 30 stocks in the Sensex and pick the 10 with the highest dividend yield. A high dividend yield is an indication that a stock is under-priced. According to the Dogs of the Dow theory, such stocks are the best candidates for a jump in their prices.
I would like to choose 30 stocks as per this theory from sensex so help how to go about.
