I'm a college graduate who has been working in an office setting for the last 10 years. Basically I see clients and sit in front of my computer every day for roughly ten hours. The pay is good, but the job is very stressful due to deadlines, tough boss, some uncooperative and ignorant coworkers that impact my work directly, and certain clients who make my life miserable.

I feel very burned out and this stress has been having a big impact on my life, i.e. sleep disorder, aloofness toward family members, high blood pressure, mood swings, etc. I'm coming to realization that a job in an office setting is not my calling. I just don't want to sit every day for ten hours and go through all this stress. I've been trying to change the job, but I know I will end up in an office setting.

I know that a majority of people, including me, sometimes have to suck it up and be happy that we have a job. However, I feel that everyone has a right to pursue his/her happiness. What should I do?

How willing are you to do manual labor? Your goal should be to find a job that is a hybrid of white collar and blue collar work. I can't help you with exact titles, but the job should be the opposite of what you are disliking now. It should enable physical movement and have minimal/no interactions with customers.

You can work in a health field. Dental hygienists make pretty good money and only have to do two years of school.
