I'm only 15, and I started a job at McDonalds. When I was hired I never asked what the wage was (I didn't care, minimum wage would have been fine). All the people I know that work there (about 8 people) get payed either $6.50 or $6.75. But when I got my first pay check my wage was $8.25 and hour! I have a friend that's worked there for over a year and still only gets payed $8.05. Is this a mistake, or do they just really like me? Can they 6 months down the road change it and then want the difference? We never settled on a wage when I was hired, should I just assume $8.25 is correct?

The credit card is still not verified on paypal, but I would like to tie the card on my ebay because I want to contact the seller.

But why is that it says "Ebay will not charge you - for verification purposes" then all of a sudden, it says something about authorization and was asking me about "for US $1.00 or it's equivalent to validate the card is in good standing"

I only want to talk to the seller :( aaaargh this whole thiung is making me mad, my OWN debit card is still not activated so I can't use it, and I really have to be safe on this one, because my mom will kill me if she finds out I am using my extension card on the internet (and she barely knows anything about internet)

Has anyone out there ever received a notice signed from
the World Bank Online Email program stating that you won a
prize through the 'Internet Raffle Draw'?Then it states that my e-mail address was entered in their big raffle and I also won it which just happens to be $1,000.00. It tells me to claim the money I need to call their Fudiciary Agent on details. It asks
my full name, contact address, mobile telephone number, Fax number, my age and sex, occupation and next of kin.
Then it states for me to keep the form confidential from the Public to avoid double claiming and contradiction over the receiving of my fund.It is signed Dr. John Locke,Promotion Manager. Then it is addressed from the Ukraine. I think I smell a skunk! What do you think?Iam anxiously waiting to hear from you!

I am having a room mate issue. If I give a written notice to the Apartment Company or Landlord that says something like

I, (insert name) a current co-tenant (insert name of apartment) will not be renewing the lease for another year by myself, with the current cosigner, (insert name), or month to month. I will expect my last payment to be on Jan 5th, 2007.

If she does not write a letter to get off the lease does that mean that she automatically will be on the lease by herself for another 12 months or does it go month-to-month until either she leaves or is kicked out by the apartment agency/landlord?

Are we suppose to write two individual letters about our own intents? What if the letter I write states that I plan on moving out, but she has one that reads that reads something like... I plan on cosigning again with (insert my name) or I plan to renew the lease again (insert my name) for another 12 month term. To me the letters would be contradicting each other.

If she decides to stay

My father took care of my health insurance throughout my entire childhood, up til I was 20 when he canceled my health insurance, without telling anyone. I did not find out for 10 months. Is that illegal on his part or should the insurance company have contacted me to let me know?

I was having a dispute over electric issues. Is it better to keep your lights on in you apartment 24/7 whether you are there are not? Somebody told me that if you turn them on and off all of the time it actually raises your bill? I was told that 75 watt bulbs is the best. When is it best to turn your lights and tv off? If you have an electric heater is it best to turn the heat on when you get home or keep it low at all times. If somebody did not use any electricity at all for a month, how much would the meter be?

For example, i buy a five dollar card (which says no connection fees) to call overseas, on posters and online ads they state that i will get 42 minutes (it doesn't say aprrox.) and when i buy the card, all i get is half an hour, and thats if I use one time. If i were to talk 5 mins each call with the same card, the number of minutes actually given is much lower, 15 minutes. I'm not making up these figures, I recorded them exactly. Is it possible to sue them because as a frequent buyer of phone card, i've lost at least one thousand minutes, which can amount to hundreds of dollars.

I have a BA in philosophy--needless to say I am not in demand right now (no work experience). Are there any jobs I could work at with my degree that will help me to get into a top mba program? I also thought about getting certified as a teacher. I could get a master of arts in teaching and become a licensed teacher. Does anybody know if I get the masters in teaching if I would make more money than other beginning teachers who only have a bachelors? Thanks!

Sorry this is so long...
I was at a job for 6 years. The last 7 months, they changed management & the new management were uh, to be nice, slooow. Lot's of problems. So I was fired, went on unemployment, the new management appealed it & we went to appeals court over it. They lied in court about my character, my job performance, that I was lazy, etc., & basically that I just sucked. The court broke the case into 2 seperate cases (I won't go into it) & I defended myself & proved not only that I was a great employee, but I won both cases & the management was terrible & I could continue to collect the unemployment. Now...how do I oh-so-delicately tell this (or not) to my interviewers? I have been racking my brain about this for weeks. To tell the truth or not? And how to go about it, either way...Thank you so much.

I'm in the Army Guard and I currently attend Marion Military Institute. Im going to graduate next year and I am seriously considering going to University of Alabama which is not to far. I was going to get an apartment like every other college student but when I sat down and thought about it I realized that maybe its better to buy a house! I mean I can get a military loan for about 110,000 bucks and pay off the loan like I would be paying rent. The only difference is that I would be owning my property. Can anyone see anything wrong with my thinking?

My boyfriend and I have lived together during 2007 and he was unemployed for about 8 months. I was the only one making money for more than half of the year and supporting both of us. We are gay (2 males). Would he qualify as my dependant? We are both U.S. citizens, we are NOT registered as domestic partners, I paid for more than half of the cost of maintaining our home.

I have a mortgage that gives me 4 payment options it is 8.5% but have only been paying the minimum because that is all I can afford my broker conned me into taking this loan 2 years ago and told me to just pay the minimum and we could re-finance later. He is now out of business. Is this considered a subprime loan? My balance is going up now and It is scheduled to reset where my payments jump dramatically in the next 14 months, my home is now not worth what I paid for 2 years ago. I don't know what to do now. I have never been late on any of my payments. Do I qualify for the Government rate freeze? Do I qualify for the Fanny Mae government loan? My loan is through Countrywide and back 6 months ago I contacted them to see if I could get out of this mess and they told me no because I have a 3 year pre payment penalty and now I heard they were going to start contacting Subprime lenders in January to try and help them out to get them a Fanny Mae type Government loan. What can I do?
