The credit card is still not verified on paypal, but I would like to tie the card on my ebay because I want to contact the seller.

But why is that it says "Ebay will not charge you - for verification purposes" then all of a sudden, it says something about authorization and was asking me about "for US $1.00 or it's equivalent to validate the card is in good standing"

I only want to talk to the seller :( aaaargh this whole thiung is making me mad, my OWN debit card is still not activated so I can't use it, and I really have to be safe on this one, because my mom will kill me if she finds out I am using my extension card on the internet (and she barely knows anything about internet)

The smallest transaction they can charge is $1.00. I actually haven't bought anything on ebay recently and this sounds like a new policy since I last bought something. You used to be able to e-mail the seller (and that did not cost anything). If they claim that they will not charge you, I suspect they will charge $1.00 on the card, and then turn around and refund $1.00 back onto the card. Effectively that are not charging you anything, but a $1.00 charge and $1.00 refund would still appear on the bill.

That is my guess here, based upon what you have said.

OK. you are talking about two different companies ( yes i know eBay owns pay pal ) Ok. You can use your debit card thru pay pal to buy from a seller at no cost to you the buyer.
If you have a question for the seller you can do that thru his contact seller on eBay email. The $1.00 is to verify it is your card. It will not take any money. Always remember eBay or pay pal will not ask you anything about you account thru an outside of eBay email account. Those are all scams.

The amount they are asking for is merely to ascertain that you are the legitimate card holder - it will be refunded straight back to your account as soon as it is verified!

The only thing Ebay takes off your card is fees and final valuation fees, and unless you are selling, this doesn't apply as a buyer. If you want to contact a seller, you should be able to email them via contact seller link on the auction page. Good luck.
