I've had no credit cards before or anything, and I haven't paid any bills or anything like that before. I am 18. I did get a account with a jewelry store and I am starting payments soon, but if I went in tomorrow what are the odds of getting it?

I am not sure what BestBuys approval criteria is but I do know that store cards charge WAY more interest (some are near 30%!) than regular credit cards.

I agree with the first answerer in that you should get a general purpose card. Not only will you be able to use it at more places - but you will save a TON of money in interest.

Try finding a card that suits you here:

If you are a student, try a card from this page: http://www.fastcreditcardoffer.com/credit-card-search/category/student/default.aspx - Those card offers expect you to have limited credit when applying.

Good luck.

it's not very smart to get a credit card that can only be used at one store. you're better off getting a visa that you can use anywhere. what if your car breaks down, you can't get it fixed at Best Buy.
