My mother is unable to work full time and she's having financial problems. I want to help her out but the only way I can do that is if my brother and I both claim her as a dependent. If we combine the extra money we receive on our pay checks it should be able to help her out. However I need to know if that is even legal. Or can only one person claim her as a dependent?

Hello,

If there is a company that has a share price of $2, and another company that has a share price of $100, should I ask for more options at the $2 company? Does it matter? My reasoning is.. If the $2 stock goes to $3, the value of the company went up 50%. This is the equivalent of the $100 stock going to $150. Correct??And if I owned, say 10,000 shares, wouldn't I want to have options on the $100 stock and not the $2 stock?

Thanks a lot for any thoughts.

Looking on the net from stuff in the early 1990's, it would appear that if you guarantee a loan for someone, you are treated as having made them an immediate gift - even if the loan never defaults - is that still the case please?

I keep getting e-mails from companies in Europe wanting me to transfer funds for them-cash checks and them send them money orders etc. It sounds fishy and I asked a bank but they never answered me, If its legitimate, it sounds like a good deal but it also sounds like a scam.

I just started my second year lease agreement on the house I'm currently in. The bank that owns the home has been by several times leaving things at our door. Today we got a letter in the mail saying that the home is going into forclosure! Are we protected because of our contract with the lease company? How does that work? If he loses the home, what happens to us if we have a rental contract?

After doing some research, it is clear that a non-loaded mutual fund in the end, would end you up with a lot less in expense fees than a loaded mutual fund. So can someone tell me why I would buy a loaded mutual fund over a nonloaded?
