I was reading on yahoo finance about an "options"..well..option. It seems like soemthing i would want to get into. However, i am not completely sure what an "option" is.

I realize the importance of saving money and investing for the future. I would like to start now. I am currently 25 and on my way into the wonderful world of marital bliss. I opened a Roth- IRA? when i was 18 and i have not been able to put any money into it. I would also like to trade some of the stocks i have in the IRA towards something that may make me a little more money. I am worried that i may lose the little bit of money i do have invested in my retirment.

What would be a safer option for my IRA stock that can make me a little more money, but won't end up burning me. Right now i am currently involved with VanKempen? and ..i forget the other one.

I need to know , at my age what are some other options i can look into for investing towards my future. And i mean actual "investments".

Thank you!

It seems that UVN (Univision) is no longer trading. There was some merger with Hispanic Broadcasting but if you look up Hispanic broadcasting you get a pharmaceutical company who, it seems, took over their stock symbol. So what happened to Univision. Was all the stock converted to cash? where is it trading now?

My landlord insists on picking up the rent every month for my apartment. He lives 45 minutes away from my apartment.

When I am 3 or 4 days late with partial rent money and he has to come back again, he requests that I pay him $15 extra because he has to travel so far to come pick up the rest of the rent.

Do I really have to pay him that amount for gas?? It says nothing in the lease about it- all it states is that after 7 days I pay a 10% late fee on what's late.

Is there a way to have health coverage for your parents (or inlaws) on your policy? We're a couple in our late 20s with a dependent also. Thanks for your insight!

Las night I had a dispute with a supervisor after giving information of a possible robbery that occurred at the warehouse next door......He then became verbally argumentative and stated that he was warned about me and stated that I have a history of talking about things I know nothing about. (keep in mind that the police were still next door responding to the call). He then stated that several other supervisors complained about me being a poor and unprofessional worker. When questioned about whom was making the complaints, he gave names of supervisors who just the other day were commending me about my job performance to the bosses, which in turn came back to me, in which they told me of the supervisors that enjoyed having me work for them. When this supervisors became upset and sent me home saying I don't work at that particular site anymore, did he violate any particular laws? Is that harrassment and unlawful termination?

Trust me.. i wish i didnt have to ask this question. But unfortunately this has been a rough month finance wise.

I sent my landlord a check.. and he usually doesnt cash it on a certain day.. just whenever he feels like it.

It did not come out of my account today yet.. is it safe to say it wont until tomorrow? or can that payment come out any time through out the day? ( I didnt know if they only process checks in the morning along with all other transactions or if it can be taken out anytime)

Thanks! Im just hungry and get paid (direct deposit) tomorrow morning. aka- if i could use that money today to get lunch.. without the fear of going under.. id be a happy camper. But i have a feeling thats not the case.

I recently received my tax preparation certification and I was wondering is there any software in particular that would be a good ideal to do other's taxes. In the past for friends and family, I used the software on the net. Just wondering if there is any recommendations for tax professionals.

Thanks for your time!

I have been saving on and off to move out of my parents house since I was 16, I have some money saved up, but there are times when I am ready and then I get cold feet. A friend of mine is also wanting to move out and she asked me to be her roommate. I would love the idea but she wants to move into an apartment like fast, giving me no time to really plan. I dont have good credit at all, so I think it'll be hard for me to be on the lease or get my own apartment by myself. If anyone could help me with what to do as far as how to save alittle more money, finding a way to either convince my future roommate to slow down, or a way for me to get my own place when I am fully ready, that'd be really helpful. Thanks, oh also I dont have car yet but will be getting one in January (already saved for that), and also I am not very good at managing money so I know that's a downfall too. Any sane, and logical suggestions will be helpful.

Our family is shopping for life insurance. My husband smokes 1-2 cigarettes a day and wants to quit, thus he thinks this "light" smoking should not be mentioned to the insurance company to keep premiums low. I am, however, concerned that in the future a claim may be denied if the company finds out, so it is better to pay up and be safe. Has anybody had issues like that? How can I convince him?

As mortgage rates fell to lows not seen since Eisenhower was president I refinanced my mortgage. There were offers for interest only loans and adjustable rate mortgages with rates less than 3% that would have resulted in ridiculously low monthly payments but I saw the risk in those and instead took a 4.875% 15-year fixed mortgage. Now the Bush administration is brokering a deal to freeze the rates on those adjustable rate mortgages.

How is that not just rewarding people for being stupid? What's next, having the casinos and lotteries give back money to those who played and didn't win?

Since we're doing "do overs" here, how about they give me back the extra interest I paid because I was smart enough not to go for the ARMs?

I am ready to invest but I've heard it can be somewhat expensive to start a roth IRA. I have heard I should wait for a year where i have alot of deductions (such as having a kid) before I open one. But I also read somewhere that a roth IRA can be started with as little as $100. I want to open asap. Anyone with any advice would be helpfull.

I have a credit card debt of $995,called the collectors & asked them if i could make a monthly payment but the associate i talked with offered to give me $780 to settle the debt,so of course i jump at the offer, but i told her that it'll have to be on my next paycheck since i don't have the money right away i gave them a check with my routing & checking account # ,so then comes the day, that they were suppose 2 take it out of my checking account,i waited past the days,2 to 3 days, then a week & a half.so by that time i needed the money to pay my rent, food,& 4 my toddler.so i used it & then a few days went by, a message from my bank informed me that a returned check was made due to insufficient fund(of course it was insufficient i used it since the collection agency didn't take it off my bank, i needed the money), i called the agency & spoke with the same woman & she wasn't really nice & didn't want to renegotiate wants me to pay it as we agreed.
