She always needs special attention (thinks she is very up there and she is not). Always wants things done different ways to accommodate HER! Just a huge complainer! I've been patient with her for the past two years, but she is crossing the line and i quite frankly want to ask her what's her problem with me?

She is a lot older than me. She used to be reporting to the president and now they hired a new boss that she reports to. I still report to the same person I always reported to and most of the upper management likes me. They have even expressed it numerous times in several company meetings.

What is her deal? Is he fearful of loosing her job/jealous? How do I deal with her? Is this common...

The position is really part time but we kept it full time because of the transition between new owner of the company. The employee requested medical leave and was out for over a month. The doctor has release them for part time basis until fully recovered. We prefer to keep the position part time. Are we legally obligated to reinstate the full time hours or can we keep them part-time?

Please advise if you think a business would be less likely to be audited if it were a S Corp, compared to being a single person LLC.

I had it explained to me this way - If you operate as a corporation, the IRS must come to you to conduct an audit, but as a single person LLC you file a Sch C with your 1040. Therefore as an individual filer you are required to go to the IRS for an audit.

So it costs the IRS more to conduct an audit off site (1120/1120S) than it does in their offices (1040). As a result, given two similar businesses, the IRS is more likely to audit the one that files on a 1040.

Does that seem logical, or from experience, have you found that it doesn't really matter?

I live in an apartment , in a very safe neighborhood where the firestaion if less then a mile away, along with the police station less the 10 miles away.. The apartment mangement is about to install an monitored alarm system in all the apartments.

Effective with the renewal ,we will be charged $35.00 per month for the alarm. If we choose to have an alarm monitored , we will need an alarm permit with the City Of Arlington , Tx. The cost of the permit is $50.00 per year payable to the city.
If we choose not the have the alarm monitored , there still will a fee of $35.00 per month for the alarm. However, it will not be monitored by the city.

Is it legal to charge us this? My family think we don't need to alarm system , we also think that we should not pay for something we have no interest of haveing. Any ideas????

My boss is a complete idiot and has me do things that are just crazy. They are disruptive to the company, waste time and money and make us look crazy to the customers and clients. I suspect that his boss does not know how poor my boss is, and I would like to tell him.

I wonder if anyone who has been frustrated by their boss has ever successfully gone over his/her head and talked to senior management? Tell us your stories!

A lady in the office is not getting along with her boss very well. He is trying to convince his boss and HR to let him fire her. At my company a manager can not fire someone without warning, they have to go through a due administrative process.

My friend needs the job bad and is broke. She is in a field with alot of competition and it would take her a year to find a new job if she was fired. She is thinking of begging for her job, or going to HR and see if she can talk them into saving her.

Have you ever begged a boss to not fire you, and been successful?

I have recently divorced, my ex husband is not the biological father of my 8 year old daughter and he never adopted her. He is wanting to claim my daughter as a dependent when he files his tax return this year, however he up and left us for his 16 year old girlfriend at the beginning of the year. I also work and have intentions of listing my daughter as my dependent. Can he legally do this when I have already told him that I am claiming my daughter? Also does anyone know what tax credits are available for low income single parents. I am a college student and only make around $19000.00 a year. Any advice is helpful!
