The last year Buffalo nickels were made was 1938. Recheck the date on yours - it won't be 1962. Jefferson appeared on the nickel starting in mid-1938, replacing the buffalo. Also, don't forget to check the mint mark, if any. It would be on the back at the six o'clock position underneath the buffalo.

Generally, 5 cents. If it's in uncirculated condition, you might get a little more for it, but not enough to bother trying to sell it.
