My husband and I are purchasing our 2nd home for $165,000. We can put $7,000 toward the down payment from the sale of our first house. To get 5% down on the new house would be $8,250. This would be fine, because we have over $3000 in the bank after paying this month's bills, and only need to use $1250 of it.

However, our bank will not allow us to to use the $3000 that we have (from recent paychecks) because it hasn't been sitting in the bank for 2 months!!! So they are requiring us to get 100% financing.

Is this _as ridiculous as it seems_, or are there other banks which would allow us to use the money we have earned at our jobs - which we can prove with our paystubs!!!

We don't have the luxury of sitting around and waiting for 2 months to prove ourselves to the bank (because I have been transferred with my job). And the 100% financing is a bad deal as far as interest rates and the extreme pickiness of the underwriters on every possible issue.

Should we try another bank?

Truth of the matter is this. I found a couple people that are selling videos (DVD's, VHS) and things like that. Both of these people have a lot of things I would like to buy, but I don't have the money to put out at this moment. I am a graphic/web designer and that's where this thought comes in.

Let me first explain these websites. The first website was posted by a guy who is offering copies of videos in his collection to other people who share the same interests as him. His site is very plain jane...one page, text only. The next guy doesn't even have a website. I found him on a "classifieds" site and to get a listing of all his stuff, I need to email him. It seems like It's almost an ebay store kind of thing.

Is it completely inappropriate to ask these people if I could design websites for them in exchange for certain videos in their collection? In otherwords, my "payment" would be receiving these videos instead of money.

Need honest opinions so I don't make a fool of myself

I come across many and many so called Gurus out there trying to teach how to trade.
As we know we have unlimited access to the Internet but limited time to view every single page.
Right now I am having a tough time to review who has the correct path to learn how to trade stock in the fastest and precise way.
Your contribution will help me tremendously. Thank you in advance

I am a 24 year old male college student and I may try to get a part-time job to help pay for college expenses.
I have never had a job. I have no references. If I do try to get a job, I dread the interview because I can't think fast enough to answer "tricky" questions and don't want to feel dumb. I am also self conscious so I am afraid that the interviewer may think something like "he's 24, why hasn't he had a job yet".

Am I screwed? Do I have a chance at getting a job?

The type of job I am looking for is probably Starbucks, a school bookstore, etc.

I have three email applications to send to potential employers. Should I send my entire application as a single PDF file or as a single MS Word file? I have been told PDF is preferable as it can't be tampered with. However, with transcripts, the PDF is 16 MB. Word is only 9 MB.

Which would you choose?

I enjoy drawing home floorplans and drawing design schemes for the scale of some computer games in my spare time. I have been told that architects do this kind of thing in their work, but math is not my strong suit- writing is. Would I be right for that career, and if not, are there any others that relate to such a hobby? Thanks.

Hello,

I am filling out a job application to work at Eat 'n Park. There is a section on the application that says Personal Refrences, Who would be considered as a personal reference? Secondly, there is a part called Previous Employment. The only "job" I've had is volunteering at my local hospital 3 days/week, and I'll continue to do this 1 day/wk, should I put this down under previous employment? (It asks for company name, Address, Phone, Job Title, Reason for Leaving, Supervisor's name, Duties, and starting/ending rate.)

In short, for working 12-40 hours, do they deserve the equivalent take-home pay of almost a year of labor??? (assuming most people have a 30 year mortgage and pay about half to it each month...)

The labor is so overpriced, that no buyer in his right mind would pay 3% extra for a property for said "service", that's why it's mixed into the seller's price, so they get to lose.

C'mon, we all know this is a protected mafia racket that discriminates against and boycots FSBOs...don't you think people are going to wise up to this rip-off?

hi thanks for taking my question

I am a new landlord. I recently signed a lease with two roomates to rent out my co op apartment. I am not sure how my lease is going to work with roomates. What happens if one of the roommates decides to move out for example? Are there any other special consideration that i should keep in mind when dealing with roommates as a landlord? I'm a new landlord and i've never dealt with roommates.

The state says I owe back taxes for childcare. Because they looked in 1 year and coould not find proof they basically said for the last 5 yrs I have to prove i paid childcare.

Well for the recent years, I have proof. But as far back at 3 yrs ago. The school has been bought and sold approx. 7 times (prviate school). I went to the school and the lady told me she didn't have record of my son going to school there. Even when I showed her his graduation certificate (pre-5 and Kind). I don't have the receipts from that long ago and don't know what to do.

Am I screwed? Please help!
