I have three email applications to send to potential employers. Should I send my entire application as a single PDF file or as a single MS Word file? I have been told PDF is preferable as it can't be tampered with. However, with transcripts, the PDF is 16 MB. Word is only 9 MB.

Which would you choose?

Word please!!

I hate when applicants send PDF files. It takes too long to open and lots of memory.

If an employer has you complete an application in a PDF format, then that's all right to send back that way. But you wouldn't do this with a resume!

So I would suggest you send things in a MS Word format, which everyone can open without any problems. And there's no problem keeping things separate. For instance, it's very common to attach a resume and application separately. So long as it's all included in a single message, that's the main thing!

I would choose the Word document. Less MBs should mean less download time.
