I am a college student with $2000 of credit card debt. The 0% APR on the card will be ending soon. A friend suggested to open a new card with 0% APR for 6 months (or longer, if possible) and (pending approval), transfer my balance to the new card.

Because of my studies I cannot get a job to pay off the debt until summer, so this seems like a logical solution. However, I feel that the solution cannot be this simple.

Why can this not work? What are the pros and cons of opening a new card and transferring the balance?

stops taking my payment saying I am a lieable since I filed for bankruptcy for my taxes,never was I late on payment just tax problem. I had the money to stop the foreclosure but being upset and not knowing what I could do I sold the property so a quik sell so the foreclosure shouldn't be on my credit for the property . If I have the money could I buy that or any other property. (As long as Ithe company can accept my payment ha ha).

I've been babysitting quite a bit. Sometimes if I'm on an off month I'll just make like $150 or so in the month, but I usually get about $300 a month on babysitting and two piano lessons that I teach per week. Oh, and also, do you have to pay taxes on gift money. I got about $1000 graduation money for high school graduation in May and I just wanted to make sure I'm not cheating the government out of anything.

I know the rate for a regular letter is 41 cents for 1 oz and 17 cents for each additional ounce. But how much are post cards now? They were 23 cents, but did it stay the same or did they go up too? I did search the USPS website, but couldn't find any rate for post cards. Thank you.

I have an account in a bank in England and I'm from a from an other country. The last week I wanted to transfer my funds to my second account out of england by internet banking.After 2 days the bank told me that the LCH (London Cleaning House) had put a hold on my bank account and I must pay the cost of transfer of funds which is a big sum that I can not pay without my funds in bank.If I can not pay them what will happen? does my account will be on hold forever ? When we first moved into this house, our shower wouldn't drain. It would overflow before we even got out of the shower so we figured it was clogged. Well, we told the landlord and she bought some draino. About 3 weeks later our bathroom started smelling of really bad sewage and this grayish dirt looking stuff would back up into our shower. We told the landlord because we thought maybe the septic tank needed emptied and she said it had been emptied 7 yrs prior to us moving in so she ignored the problem. Well, it began to get worse. Anything we poured into our sink would end up in the shower. Before we could even take a shower we had to clean it out because it had all that gray dirt/rock in the floor of it. We had to use buckets to get the water out or it would sit there for about an hour before draining. Anyhow we didn't pay rent for 2 months and now she is taking us to court. She gave us 2 weeks to get out! There was also mold growing in the bathroom. Will we end up losing at court?

It is sad to see more and more Japanese made cars on the street--I blame the oil companies because if gas were low you and I know we'd be driving a safer SUV. A small piece of Americana is being threatened--at least our local, state, and federal government buys American autos.

In the past we have helped out Boeing, Halliburton, Alcoa, Lockheed Martin, Exxon, Airlines etc. Don't get me started on pick-me-ups to our state-owned companies like USPS or Amtrak.

Foreign companies don't have to worry about unions and unions are good because we want our fellow brethren to receive an adequate wage.
