Your filing status can only be Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately.

You can't claim your spouse as Dependent. Your spouse is never your dependent. But you can file as Married Filing Jointly. Then you get one extra exemption deduction of $3,400 and one extra standard deduction of $5,350. Thus your total deductions (if you don't itemize) are $17,500.

This is from IRS publication 17: Your Federal Income Tax. Tip. If you and your spouse each have income, you may want to figure your tax both on a joint return and on separate returns (using the filing status of married filing separately). Choose the method that gives the two of you the lower combined tax.

If you file married filing jointly, claim a $10,700 standard deduction, your 2 exemptions and then pay taxes on the rest. If you file married filing separately, your deduction is 1/2.

If you are asking about your W-4 at work, we don't know. married 2? married 1?

2choices for filing your income tax ,married filing joint(mfj) or married filing seperate(mfs)depending on total income, and whether you want bigger refund claim married zero on your w4,want less refund claim married 2,anything more would probably create a balance due,all depends on income totals and deductions(AMT might apply)

Claim one allowance on your W-4, or two if your spouse doesn't work.

When you file, you'll most likely be best filing a joint return with your spouse.

What do you mean what do you claim? You mean like for dependents? If so, and your a guy, your wife could be your dependent, I guess.
