I'd love to open a business, but I am afraid of what other people will think about me. If it fails, my name will be attached to it. What would I do, then?

Tell me to stop being silly.

If your business fails you say, "well, at least I tried and that's more than most people will ever do!"

Most people don't have the guts to start their own business and they will admire you for trying. If your business is successful then they'll be jealous which is a whole different drama for you.

This is a good time to start a business because the general economy is struggling.

I owned a business for 14 years.....made more money than I knew what to do with and I was my own boss. It was great! If you need any tips just ask.

If your business fails, it only means that there is something to be learned, and you start again. The fact is, most businesses DO fail...that is no reason not to try. I'd start with how YOU feel about you...if you have a gift or talent or amazing product or service that helps others to solve a problem in their life, then you have an obligation to share it with them. It's not about you after all, it's about being of service to your clients or customers...helping them in some way. If it's about you and how you will look, then you're in it for the wrong reason...no matter what the business is.
Hope that helps...and good luck.

By the way, you're not being silly. It's something everyone goes through in the beginning. Congrats on having the courage to speak your truth.

There are 2 things you need to start a business.

You need a business mind and a business heart.

A business mind means you can think about all the various aspects of a business and do it professionally.

A business heart means that you can get up 6am, work the whole day, maybe for no income, deal with the fear and so on and keep going until you are successful.

Few people have both. Maybe you are not ready to do business at this stage, or maybe you could just find a part-time business and build it up from there.

Who really cares what others think business is business. If you fail at least you can say you tried. That's more than they can say. At least you have a goal in life.
