as a debtor on his bankruptcy, of course I was a non-secured debt, so I will be the last to get paid. I received a letter today from the bankruptcy court of a notice of dismissal...what does that mean?

THANKS!

It means your "friend" has no legal obligation to pay you back at all, if he included the amount owed to you so if he does now it would be a miracle!

Unfortunately this also means you can say goodbye to this friendship forever!

It means in a likelihood you are never going to see your money again. It means he doesn't have to pay you back cause he filed for bankruptcy. Sounds like a crappy friend to me.

That means you will get exactly the amount stated in the letter you will get. My guess is the letter stated the only thing you will get is the letter.

Sounds like you're screwed. Never mix business and friendship, it NEVER works out. Sorry you had to learn an expensive lesson. :(

That means there's no money left to pay you. You are now out $4,000.
