Can someone tell me where I can find the laws on bank error's and time limits...I had a bank error on 9-2-07 for 972.00 in my favor .. Due to the fact my daughter and my hubby were both paid that day and his checks range each pay day from 3100-4500 and hers are min wage checks but I didnt catch the error cause I always have good money in there and rarly keep a regiister which is my fault but now here 2 months later I have a benk error withdrawl saying they made error. I found the error they are correct but this hit me surprisingly now I could go in the hole cause of it due to that fact I wrote a check for a car on Friday. So if anyone can find a site to help me know if they can just do this since it has been 2 months now...NO I AM NOT TRYING TO KEEP THERE MONEY...

My boyfriend and I are thinking about renting a house...
I know you have to pay rent but I was wondering what other bills and what sort of price range to expect...

We worked out
- Electricity/gas
-Water
- Phone
- Internet (he wants cable)
and food...
But how much would each cost, even a general idea would help alot...
Have I missed any bills?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
*hugs*

When I say "get by" I mean be able to have a functioning car (not a great one, but not a pinto either), rent an ordinary apartment room, and buy food. Basically, the basics any person would need. Ipods, cellphones, and other gadgets are unnecessary.

So what's the calculation in your state? 25-30-40 grand a year?

I allowed a family member to use credit cards to help fund a new business. The total amount charged was 20K. Initially the family member was making payment but recently he has stopped and now the payments are 4 months behind. The total amount due now is 18K. When asking for payments I get all types of excuses from this family member. What should I do?

A friend of mine is considering taking a night shift job (the only night job she could find that pays enough), this job would require her to drive 60 miles in total every night. She can't take a day job since no one would take care of her baby, daycare would just break even with her pay. Is this possible/doable if she still has to take care of her baby all day during the day?(Note that she is already exhausted at the end of the day) would you advise someone to do this?
Or do you have any other suggestions to give? At this point it's not possible for her to move at all to be closer to where the job is, but she desperately needs the money to pay her bills.

The caller would dial in at a cost of 50 cents and answer 3 questions (fairly easy) and then be entered with all the other winners for the week. One winner a week would be chosen at random to receive $500.00.

I have a B.A. in Spanish and I'm trying to find a job in which I can utilize my language skills. I just saw an ad for a bilingual transcriptionist position. However, I was wondering what exactly medical transcriptionists do. Could someone with my educational background get a position like that?

Today I tried to withdraw $100 from and ATM and after much whirring and ugly mechanical noises it produced $80 instead. My receipt said I had withdrawn $100.

Is there anything I can do to recover the $20 I lost?

I'm currently just scraping by, though I hope to change my situation by getting a better job. That being said, though, is it possible for someone who earns less than $30 k a year to retire comfortably? I don't know what the future holds, but I would like to live comfortably and get some much-needed R&R in my golden years. Does anyone here have the scoop?:)

I'm asking this question partly because I'm curious and partly because I could use some input. I'm now job hunting and I get overwhelmed at the prospect of writing cover letters and resumes for the various positions for which I'm applying. After all, it's best to write a cover letter and resume that's individually tailored for a particular position you're seeking. (In other words, one size doesn't fit all.) I know that in order to improve my chances of landing a good job, I'm going to have to apply for LOTS of different positions, so I imagine that a lot of my time is going to be taken up by writing resumes and cover letters. And not only is my time going to be taken up by writing, but it's going to taken up by brainstorming, as well! Does it really have to be so overwhelming?

My apartment managers have just asked all tenants to supply copies of house keys before a certain date and said they reserve the right to change the locks in case of noncompliance. They said that since not all tenants would be able to be at home during the scheduled repair of the building's heating system, they must be able to have access regardless. Frankly I don't feel comfortable for the janitor to have access to my house when ever he pleases. Is it within my rights to deny a set of copies without repercussion? I live in Cook County, Illinois.
