The Chamber of Commerce is a (usually) local organization that is membership based.

Local businesses purchase memberships and the CofC offers things like business seminars, personal growth seminars, and weekly/monthly networking events. Some bigger CofCs offer other benefits like health care plans where many small companies can band together and buy health insurance at cheaper rates for their employees.

My suggestion would be to do an Internet search on the CofC you are applying to, for example "Chicago Chamber of Commerce". You should end up with lots of links to their hosted events and such.

And, they should have a website specific to their organization where you can glean lots of good info.

Good luck with your interview
